Shasta Community Health Center, working with private and public health partners, and by leveraging and efficiently using its limited resources, will help to create a seamless system of access to compassionate, high quality cost-effective primary and preventive health care for all residents of the communities it serves. Shasta Community Health Center strives to improve the health status within the communities it serves, particularly for those residents who are economically or otherwise disadvantaged.

Redding is located in the beautiful far north of the Sacramento Valley and California. Surrounded on three sides by designated wilderness areas, Redding is an attraction for those looking for an uncrowded experience, hiking, skiing, water sports, or just 'less traffic'. Redding has a population of 90,000 with numerous surrounding smaller communities. Redding is the major medical referral center between Sacramento and Oregon.
Located conveniently on I-5, events in Sacramento and San Francisco can be reached within 2-3 hours drive. The beautiful Northern California coast is 150 miles to the west, with state parks and redwood forests for the naturalist. Living costs are typically much less in the Redding area, compared to larger metro areas of California.
Residents of the greater Redding area have found it the ideal blend of infrastructure and services - and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities. Family centered events, schools, sports and culture are relatively easy and inexpensive to access. Many residents choose to stay and practice here; Redding is indebted to the Family Practice programs that continue to attract and supply the bulk of primary care physicians in the area.
Two major hospitals serve the community Shasta Regional Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center /Redding. A combined 400 bed availability provides exceptional medical and surgical services with a broad range of primary and specialty care. We are especially fortunate to have a talented and dedicated medical community that provides outstanding care to our patients.
Shasta Community Health Center (SCHC) is a non-profit primary health care system and is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). SCHC is based in Redding, California and has served Shasta County and surrounding counties and communities since 1988. Since inception, the health center has grown steadily and now includes outlying clinic facilities in Andersonand Shasta Lake City. SCHC has implemented a full Electronic Medical Records system since 2008 that links all clinics and HOPE vans, is remotely accessible and facilitates recertification and research pursuits. A full time IT staff supports our clinicians and is readily available for assistance when needed. Providers are provided with a laptop device specifically to allow remote and secure access to records and clinic database.
With a recently constructed state-of-the-art three story clinic building at it's flagship health center in Redding, SCHC provides primary medical, pediatric, dental, vision, mental health, urgent care, specialty consults, telemedicine, and HIV services. I have been going here for many years and there's a reason for that. It is really a very nice clean place.

The SCHC dental staff and facility in Anderson could not be better. Staff shortages are a problem that can be remedied by increasing salaries. The system makes it hard to schedule an appointment in the future.

As always, the staff at Shasta Community Health are friendly and helpful. Procedures were explained clearly and thoroughly. A bit of a wait most times to get in, but it's well worth it. Highly recommended!

The Dental Hygienist that helped my son today was so friendly and went completely out of her way to make my 4 year old son not feel scared of all of the tools that were going to be used.

For a walk-in I feel that I had a shorter wait time than what it could have been, once I got to a room they started checking me out and made sure that I was numbed before pulling my tooth, it came out easily and I have had no problems since coming home

They helped me right away but I think it's because they thought I was a patient at the dental center it's the fastest I've been seen and it was great service the dental practitioner was very friendly and so was the dentist they gave me very good information about me needing a root canal and that because I wasn't a patient I would have to be referred out to a different dentist but all in all it was a great visit and they sent an antibiotic to my pharmacy.

After going thru the process as a walk in extraction x2 teeth at the Redding office Wednesday and walking away with an address in Anderson for walk in on Thursday I wasn't too happy. Tooth ache. The personnel in Anderson were very polite and the dentist whom worked on me was very kind and gentle. Even the needle in my gums wasn't bad. Today Friday, I'm doing really good, gums feel pretty good. Thank you dental staff

Front desk was quick and efficient. Always a wait with this place but worth it once seen. The xray tech was gentle and soft spoken. The dental staff was great. Came in filling extreme pain and within a few hours the pain was manageable.

This was my daughters first time at the dentist and she had the best experience, she wanted to go back the next day! Everyone was so good with her. We also got right in and didn't have to wait.

My son went into the dentist as excited as could be and left terrified of ever going back. He was seen by his school dentist a month prior to going to Shasta community dental, who said he had excellent oral hygiene and no cavities. Shasta Community informed me that he had THREE cavities just by looking into his mouth, they weren't able to get x rays of the back teeth because he was in tears after they tried a few times. I took him to Shasta Kids Dentistry and they made everything so much more comfortable for him and were actually able to get X-Rays of his back molars and said he had no cavities and great teeth. I would never recommend Shasta Community for small children. I'm so glad I went with my gut and took him somewhere else
