Neil A. Shapiro, DMD, is a highly skilled dentist who serves patients from all over Hartford County at Shapiro Family Dental in Wethersfield, Connecticut. There, he offers world-class dental care at the state-of-the-art office.
In 1998, Dr. Shapiro graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. After graduating, he completed a General Practice Residency Program at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. During his residency, he gained valuable experience in oral surgery and oral facial repairs following traumatic injury.
Since becoming a practicing professional, Dr. Shapiro has been diligent about enrolling in continuing education courses. He has studied to the point of excellence in performing root canals, oral surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, and his own QuickBraces of Connecticut an innovative orthodontic method that straightens teeth in months rather than years.
Patients have come to appreciate his calm, polite chairside manner and his emphasis on patient education. Each personalized treatment plan is a collaborative effort and Dr. Shapiro routinely forms close personal relationships with his patients.
Dr. Shapiro is also a current member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and the Hartford Dental Society.
When hes not in the office, Dr. Shapiro is probably rocking out on a stage somewhere. He plays many musical instruments and even composes his own original songs. Ask him where you can catch him play with one of his bands, as he routinely plays social functions across the state!
Shapiro Family Dental is happy and proud to announce that Dr. Oren Sudai has joined our dental team. A native of Toronto, Canada, he was influenced by his mother, a physician and his father, a contractor, to enter the dental field. The combination of a strong interest in medicine as well as the practical aspect of repairing and renovating things to make them functional and beautiful again led him to a career in dentistry. Following completion of dental school at Boston University, he continued onto advanced General Dentistry training residency at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, New York. This residency offered Dr. Oren further knowledge and expertise in oral surgery, implants, cosmetic fillings, root canals, and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Oren also volunteered to provide dental treatment for the homeless in Boston as well as participated in an international mission trip to Guatemala. Dr. Oren maintains, These experiences exposed me to severe oral health diseases, which added to my motivation to provide the best preventive care possible to all my patients.

I was so pleased with my first experience at Shapiro Family Dentistry. My husband has been going to this practice and has raved about it and told me to go for my acute jaw and muscle pain. I called today to make an appointment and they took me the same day after listening to my concerns. Everyone at their office was so warm and welcoming. For the first time ever I was not scared to sit in a dentists chair and truly feel that I received exceptional care. I will continue my dental care here moving forward.

Shoutout to Stephanie and the whole crew at Shapiro Family Dental! Stephanie was able to answer all my questions, and provided top notch care during my cleaning. Dr. Neil is amazing ~ as is his staff! Everyone is helpful and kind and he goes out of his way to make every experience as good as it can be. He's excellent at what he does and is compassionate and caring 100% of the time ~ moving through treatment at the patient's comfort level ~ not his own. I highly recommend Shapiro Family Dentistry without hesitation!

Had two implants placed in my upper jaw, after novacaine wore off, I just needed a few motrin to get to sleep that night, when I woke up was pretty much pain free, looking forward to finishing the implants in a few months.

I needed to have a crown on my tooth next to my front tooth. I was very nervous that it was going to be very obvious that it was a fake tooth. But it turned out perfect, the color matches well, the shape is better than the original tooth. I am so happy with Dr. Shapiro's work. And he is such a sweetheart also.

Absolutely beautiful practice! Super clean, beautifully decorated and Dr Neil is the absolute BEST!! He truly cares for all of his patients and will make sure any procedure you have is pain free! The staff is AMAZING as well!! Hygienists too!! By far the best practice I have ever been to. Oh and the toilet paper, if you have to use the restroom, you will not be disappointed!!

I walked in with a painful dental problem nervous. Then when Dr. Shapiro explained to me what it was it was clear and I understood but I still was overcome with tears. Dr. Shapiro was not scheduled for my issue but still took the time to somehow calm me down and in seconds I had total trust in whatever he suggested. Nothing hurt. And was on my way. Even though it is my human nature to always tear up I will never question his prognosis again.
