Dr. Pye was born and raised in Walterboro, South Carolina. It was his love of the low country and small-town life that brought him back in 1999 when he purchased the practice of Dr. John Tennant. Dr. Pye is a 1989 graduate of Presbyterian College and a 1994 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at Martin Army Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. He proudly served in the United States Army Dental Corps from 1994 until 1999.
Crystal joined our team in 2009 after graduating from Edisto High School and Midlands Tech, where she received her associate degree in science. She loves being part of a practice that feels like a family, and she appreciates that all of her team members strive to do what is best for our patients. She acts as a comforter for our patients and keeps them at ease during even the most difficult procedures. She is especially skilled at providing comfort for patients with dental anxiety! She also works to educate our patients on their oral health.
Kathy has been a part of our team for over 15 years and is invaluable in helping our patients overcome their dental fears. She does all she can to help them attain bigger and brighter smiles! She stays current with continuing education and new products and procedures so that she can give her patients the best care possible. Kathys qualifications include graduation from Trident Technical College as a CDA in 1997, where she received the Trident College Merit Award. She has also received the Mary Clary Award for Dental Assistant of the Year
Rachel joined our team in 2015 and cherishes the relationships she has built with her patients and fellow team members. She is from Eutawville, South Carolina, and she attended Holly Hill Academy and Midlands Technical College, where she earned her associate degree in science.
Taylor is from Walterboro, South Carolina, and joined our team in 2018. She graduated from Colleton County High School, USC Salkehatchie and LaTrice D. Ferguson School of Nursing Assistants. She loves being part of our dental family!
Niki attended Walterboro High and Orangeburg Tech. She is from Lodge, South Carolina, but has lived in Ashton for over 15 years. When shes not working with our team, she enjoys shopping, going to the river with her family, hunting with her family and the beach. She has a husband, Justin, a son, Austin, and a daughter, Kearsen.

I am a Captain in the US Army visiting family on PCS leave and had severe inflammation of the gums and tongue. So painful I couldn't eat for days. Thought my problems would be solved when dentist offices opened on Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday but this dentist office turned me away without even asking what the issue was, checking their schedule, or even giving me the time of day.

Very disappointed in the way I was treated due to their 24 hour cancellation "policy". I explained it's beyond my control if transportation notifies me the day of that my ride is delayed or unable to make it. Kristen stated they'd make the exception to reschedule me this once but it wouldn't be allowed again. She didn't seem empathetic at all and even went as far as suggesting a Taxi or Uber in Walterboro?! Not everyone has access to a car and rely on others to get around in this small town. Maybe update your policy or be willing to make exceptions for things that are beyond the patients control. Show empathy not threats of a policy.

The best dentist ever! I had major anxiety from previous bad experiences at other places and that all changed coming here! Everyone is soooo nice and Dr.Pye is the absolute best, I actually look forward to going!

Dr. Pye and his staff are amazing. They work you in for an emergency even when they have a fully scheduled day. The office is immaculate and clean! Super Friendly staff and thoughtful of costs to patient!

Dr. Pye was so great. He explained everything in detail to make sure I understood my options. Rachel gets an award for the sweetest hygienist and Nikki makes the front counter look easy. So glad I found a dentist I enjoyed going to see.

Was in for just a routine cleaning. I am fortunate enough to have Rachel as my dental hygienist. She's the best. Everyone in the office is very friendly and it's as pleasurable experience as going to the dentist can be. Highly recommended.

I love Dr. Pye and his staff! Rachel is my dental hygienist and she does an amazing job! She really takes her time when she cleans my teeth. All I can say is job well done for every scheduled appointment. The atmosphere of the Dental office is so positive. I'm always bragging to others about my Dentist. Last, Dr. Pye and his staff are truly passionate about their profession. If Dr. Pye sees anything abnormal he lets you know what's the best solution for the problem. Thank you for your great service!
