Dr. Shanna Chirco loves practicing dentistry and interacting with patients. Her passion is helping her patients improve their dental health and smiles and she looks forward to providing each patient quality, caring service in a warm and welcoming environment.
'I love what I do! I love the technical challenges I face each day and also enjoy getting to know all my patients and being fortunate enough to help them out. It is especially rewarding at the end of treatment to get a heartfelt thank you from the patient because they know we care about them and take immense pride in the care we provide.
Dr. Chirco, formerly Dr. Shanna Koh, is a graduate of UC Irvine and USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. After dental school, she worked for more than ten years as an associate at both private practices as well as a large dental corporation. This experience was invaluable for Dr. Chirco as she learned what best worked for patients and how to address every patient's needs. She has now spent more than a decade restoring and enhancing smiles. She is committed to providing patients with beautiful smiles through outstanding care.
Dr. Esther Chen aims to provide excellent comprehensive dentistry in a friendly and efficient manner. Dr. Chen attended UCLA for her undergraduate degree and dental school at New York University in New York, New York. Thereafter, she completed her residency at Bronx Lebanon. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Orange County Dental Associationand the Academy of General Dentistry. She is currently working towards her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and a board member for Orange County Dental Association.
Dr. Chen has been on numerous volunteer dental missions trips, including to Mexico, China, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. Dr. Chen is proud to have earned the following awards: Dr. Robert A. Susman Memorial Award, presented each year to one senior who has demonstrated Excellence in Operative Dentistry and Humanitarian Value in Dental Care at New York College of Dentistry. Dr. Chens favorite quote is by Winston Churchill: We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
Dr. Chen loves to travel and enjoys scrapbooking. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, exercising, and exploring different beaches with her husband and daughters.
Nikole Smith is a Registered Dental Hygienist. Our patients and our team are grateful to have her dental hygiene expertise and wonderful personality. She graduated from Taft College Dental Hygiene program in May 2011. Prior to Dental Hygiene she was an assistant for six years at a private practice office. Her long term career goals are to complete a Masters Degree. She would like to teach Dental Hygiene part time and continue with private practice part time.
Nikole is very active in the LB Dental Hygiene Society, participating in monthly meetings and annual events such as health screening and the Oral Cancer annual 5k run. Nikole resides in Long Beach with her partner Cassie and their dachshund Abbey. Nikole enjoys sports especially cycling and jogging, she is training for her first sprint triathlon.
'I love what I do. I enjoy meeting new faces and families and helping to educate patients on the importance of oral health. As years go on, science advances and we have better understandings of how oral health effects the overall health of the body. It 's my job to help my patients understand this connection and find ways that will work with each person, individually, to achieve a healthy mouth and smile.'
Michelle is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She studied her general education at the University of Hawaii. Upon completion, she studied Dental Hygiene at San Joaquin Valley College, recently further her education at the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry. Michelle completed her studies for licensure as an RDH in Alternative Practice and is licensed by California to perform prophylaxis, scaling and root plannings, local anesthetic, subgingival curettage, nitrous oxide, and radiographs. She is also certified to perform CPR. Michelle is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association, the California Dental Hygiene Association, and the Orange County Dental Hygiene Association.
'Our practice is family-oriented. We make sure our patients receive the utmost quality care they deserve. All the employees make it a team effort every day we come to work. I am truly blessed to be in a wonderful office,' says Michelle. She also enjoys the outdoors, her family, friends, and her dog Khalua.
Alexis Donnan is a Registered Dental Hygienist. Alexis graduated in 2019 from Concorde Career College in Garden Grove and is going back to school to finish her bachelors at Cal Sate Fullerton. A long term goal of hers is to finish her masters and move into teaching dental hygiene in the future.
Dentistry has always been a huge passion of mine and I knew at a young age that dental care was the career path I wanted to follow. As a hygienist it is important to me that my patients have an all around positive experience while in the dental chair. I want to make sure my patients are comfortable and happy with the treatment they received before they leave. Luckily, with the amazing staff that our office has, our patients receive the best.
Barbara has been with the office for more than 13 years, starting with Dr. Paranal. She assists Dr. Chirco in all aspects of patient treatment and is so eager to attend to patient's comforts and needs. She is well versed on OSHA regulations and strives to maintain our office in pristine condition by keeping up with latest information on sterilization methods and patient safety.
Along with her husband Brian and two cats, she lives nearby in Cypress and is always the first one to open up the office. She enjoys traveling with her husband and always eager to try new things. Don't be surprised to see her great you with a hug and a bottle of water or coffee.
Tricia Herbas is the office manager. She has worked with Dr. Chirco for more than five years. She is responsible for managing day-to-day operations in the office to assist the dental faculties to propagate a smooth work environment. She is always eager to help accomodate recommended treatment plans and to help patients obtain their best oral health. During her free time she loves spending time with her wonderful family and her dogs.
Erica is a registered dental hygienist. Patients love talking to her and hearing her great laughter. She is a great educator and loves to help her patients perfect their personal dental hygiene. On her free time she spends time with her husband and two kids being as great of a mother as she is a hygienist.
