When you come in for your initial visit please be sure to bring your dental insurance card and arrive early to fill out your initial paperwork if you have not already done so. Please bring a list of any medications you are taking. If you need antibiotics prior to dental work, please take them as prescribed. In addition to being much more comfortable for the patient, using the scanner allows us to be more efficient and accurate, which can result in a reduced number of visits to the office, saving the patient time.
CAD/CAM stands for Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Milling (CAM). 3D images can be uploaded into special CAD software, allowing the dentist to evaluate the exact details of the appearance and function of the restoration. Our CEREC technology can also help the patient to visualize the end result of the proposed restoration.
Once the design is finalized, the files are sent to the CAM system for fabrication of the restoration to the exact specifications of the design. Use of CEREC technology increases efficiency and accuracy, and can often reduce the overall number of patient visits needed.
Digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film x-rays. The improved diagnostic capability of digital x-rays and the ability to view the x-rays on a computer screen allow the patient to better understand and follow treatment. Digital x-rays are instant, there is no longer a need to develop the film. Digital x-rays save time and increase patient care. Its also a very green technology. By eliminating film, developer and chemical waste it is better for you and the environment!
Anintra-oral cameracombines the latest video technologies with dental care. Both the patient and dentist can see detailed images of the teeth and mouth in real time. With an intraoral camera, you are able to better understand what is happening in your mouth and review the status of your oral health.
This device is used to obtain the proper length of the root canal, from which the doctor can determine the position of the file relative to the apex of the root. This can help ensure that the canal is completely free of debris, reducing potential future complications.
These ultra quiet headphones are for patient use during any dental procedure. Patients can listen to their favorite music or watch a movie without having to hear all of the surrounding noise going on as the dental work is being performed.
These monitors are found next to every patient chair. Patients can watch a movie or TV show. Patients can also view their dental radiographs when speaking to the doctor about the findings for a better understanding of their oral health.

I had an tooth emergency on a Friday at 6pm, after office hours. I called and left a message regarding the issue and received a call from Pat within minutes of my leaving my message. She contacted Dr Cheung who sent a prescription to my pharmacy before it closed. On Monday I saw the dentist at 8am. Excellent dentist office who cares about their patients.

We have been patients of Dr. Shanahan since 1985 and have always enjoyed going to see all of the doctors and technicians. They all have the same friendly and helpful demeanor and our whole family loves to go to the dentist because of the friendly and gentle care we recieve.

Best dentistry practice by far! I literally started going to Dr. Shannahan as a kid. Now I am in my forties and I'm bringing myself and my family to Dr. Cheung. They are so chill and calm. It's like going to a spa instead of the dentist. (Seriously! I look forward to this.) But more importantly, they are exceptional at what they do. Whenever I went somewhere else (because I moved out of area), I always came back here to have them fix it. I am so happy I finally just live by them again. They get it done right the first time, every time. Highly recommend.

I had an emergency issue that I need to have handled and called first thing Monday morning and I was able to get into see Dr. Nora Regan who has a wonderful pleasant personality and immediately addressed my issue. Everything went excellently and smoothly and I have a visit to address and fix the issue tomorrow morning at 10 AM. This kind of attention and care for their clients is one of the main reasons we've been going to Dr Shanahan and now his new staff and partner for over 30 years! David Horvath

I have been with Dr. Shanahan for over 28 years. That alone speaks for itself. And now that Dr. Chung has joined the practice over the last several years, he is equally excellent. Front desk staff is friendly and responsive, hygienists are professional and discuss best practices in preventive care, and the equipment is state of the art. My last visit I was informed that they now make digital impressions of a tooth for a crown; no more goo impressions and waiting 2 weeks or so for the crown to come in, they make the crown right in house. 6/13/22 Dr.Cheung continues running an excellent practice. He keeps up with all of the current technology and equipment and has become a full-service dental office, even making crowns in house while you wait.
