Dr. Wilkinson volunteers his services with Hope for the Inner City, a Christian community outreach organization. Their mission is to restore the dignity of the needy in East Chattanooga by offering compassionate services and support that move them from dependency to self-sufficiency. We also provide life-changing smile makeovers right here in our office! When you visit us, we can take a digital photograph of your smile and input it into our virtual makeover system. This allows you to digitally try on cosmetic treatments like porcelain dental veneers, teeth whitening, and dental implants before you ever start the actual procedures. You can even print a photo out to take it home to show your family or to get input from friends.
The Shallowford Smiles dental team has years of experience and training but weve never stopped improving! In fact, Dr. Brian Wilkinson takes upwards of 80 hours of continuing education per year in advanced services like dental implants and cosmetic treatments. By keeping up with modern advances in dental techniques and technology, were better able to provide you with dental care that fits your unique needs. Our advanced services include ClearCorrect invisible braces, comprehensive implant therapy, dramatic smile makeovers, and more.

Dr. Wilkinson attended the University of California, Irvine, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Loma Linda University. He decided to become a dentist because it allowed him to work with his hands while also expanding his love for science. He says the instant gratification of seeing someones smile cared for is both professionally fulfilling and personally rewarding.
His continuing education certifications include Endodontics, Implant Placement and Restoration from the Garg Implant Seminars, Conscious Sedation Certification, Advanced Aesthetics in Veneer, and Crown Placement
Before opening Shallowford Smiles, Dr. Wilkinson practiced as an associate elsewhere. His deep dedication to his patients led him to venture out on his own, giving him the freedom to provide more personalized care. His belief in listening carefully to your concerns, offering the best options available, and delivering care in the most effective and comfortable way possible has become the philosophy of our Chattanooga practice.
When he isnt busy seeing his patients, Dr. Wilkinson spends as much time as possible with his two beautiful children. They both attend St. Nicholas School, where Dr. Wilkinson helps coach the rock climbing team. His family is active and on the go, either with rock climbing, horseback riding, or family festivities.

The people seem nice and are very accommodating. It takes forever to get an appointment so if you're having an urgent matter you probably should find another place to go. The communication among the staff appears to be very poor. I found that I was repeating myself constantly. Also, my last encounter with the dentist was very unpleasant. It was for a single tooth examination. I had a cavity that I knew was there from a previous exam and treatment of a different tooth. The doc just happened to mention it to me at the time that I had a cavity in another tooth. I came back again for them to exam and treat this second tooth and after the x-rays the doc storms In with much disdain in his tone of voice and body language and reminds me that this is not a full exam (which I never wanted in the first place because I had sceduled one already for later in the month). When I told him that I came back for this tooth per his advice he terminated the conversation and refused to treat me. I honestly have no idea where the miscommunication was. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe I was bad at explaining myself. All in all, my experience was not that great here and now I'm having to seek alternative care. Hopefully your experience will be better. Have a blessed day.

I've been coming here for the past few years and have had a great experiences mostly. Last week I received a bill in the mail for a day I never went to the office. I inquired about it and was told someone will follow up with me. Several days later (today 10-11) I got a call back from the billing person to explain the situation. I was told I had an outstanding bill due from 3 months ago and that's why I was charged. I asked several questions and was put on hold. Another person came back to the phone with an aggressive attitude and told me to stop talking when I was giving my side. Dr. Wilkinson is great but the staff is rough and not afraid to yell at you and tell you to stop talking. After years of seeing them I'm afraid I'll have to go find another dentist that actually respects their clients as much as they do their money.

This place is seriously wonderful. I absolutely hate going to the dentist, but today I got a root canal and it was honestly one of the most pleasant dental procedures I've ever had. The staff is super attentive and sweet from the front office to the clinical staff. I am so happy I found this place.

This was an emergency visit. I shattered my temporary crown on a popcorn kernel. They called me within the hour and I cannot remember the lady's name that met me at the office but she was wonderful! Put a new temporary in and had me on my way. Perfect fit also. Totally painless.

My new dentist showed me x-rays of the work I had done from this place 4 years ago. I had two implants done at this location. After 2 years and $8000+ I received less than adequate implants that don't match my teeth at all and have a gap between them. My new dentist said, "It looks like a monkey went in there with a wrench and put the implants in."
