Dr. Shafer and his entire team including the awesome front desk team are simply wonderful to work with. I have been a patient for 8 years with zero complaints or issues. The entire team are courteous, helpful, enjoyable to be around, easy to speak with and helpful for all issues including insurance, procedures, scheduling, etc. Shafer Dental is a top 10 dental practice in the North Texas region.

Unfortunately I never even had the opportunity to meet Dr. Shafer. I called and left a voicemail as an interested new patient to join his practice, no phone call back from his office staff. I filled out an online new patient request form, still nothing. I called again 2 weeks later and was informed we will take X-rays and have an introductory appointment prior to the second appointment cleaning date is set. I agreed and even emailed my recent X-rays from my previous dentist. Front Office took all of my information down and I was entered into their system. An appointment date was set. I called to confirm morning of my appointment and they said they didn't have me scheduled for an appointment. Well glad I checked before driving over. On to a better dental practice.

Beyond disappointed and a waste of time. I have United Dental insurance and have never had to pay for a cleaning. When I called to schedule I told them I need a teeth cleaning. I have never had a cavity or dental issue in my entire life. When I arrived immediately was told insurance does not cover x-rays and I would have to pay $79. After the x-rays the doctor said your teeth are perfect just need to do a polish & cleaning. That's exactly what I scheduled. I then get told Oh no we do a 2 part exam: initial visit then cleaning. That was never explained. The assistant was very nice even tried to go ask the dentist if they could do the cleaning. She immediately returned and said sorry just pay and reschedule. I will never return. I immediately called Mint Dentistry and they have me scheduled for a cleaning like I requested and not a 2 part visit.

LOVE Dr. Shafer!! I have been going to him for about 10 years and have gone through almost all procedures with him due to bad childhood teeth hygiene. He is very friendly and knows what he is doing, haven't had a single bad experience. I moved but will still drive 45min to go to him.

Dr. Shafer and staff are awesome. They do great work and make you feel welcome and comfortable even though dental work is something most people dread. You can tell everyone enjoys their work, which says a lot about the practice.

Dr. Shafer has been our family dentist for over 15 years. He is helped my family with dental hygiene, veneers, crowns, root canals. Ty is the best. Always very straight about procedures and making the best recommendations for me and my children. Ty connects with his patients and makes them feel at home. He has recommended the right orthdontists and oral surgeon for the family as well.

I have had a lifetime of experience sitting in dental chairs, but until I moved to Texas 5 years ago I never knew what I could and should expect from superior professional service. I left my initial exam in Dr. Shafer's office with a complete plan for long term preventative care. including several options. Without any pressure, I was able to make informed decisions based on lifetime dental health and financial concerns. Within a year Dr. Shafer repaired prior dental work done elsewhere, addressed issues with some loose teeth, and gave me a few incredible implants that made it possible to smile great, eat corn on the cob and sweet cherries without a care in the world! Dr. Shafer is a skilled genius in the art of dentistry, his staff is delightful and caring, and I have never had to sit in the waiting room for more than 3 minutes. This practice is a rare find! You will not be disappointed.

Had a lovely experience with Dr. Shafer and his dental assistant Brandi Flournoy! She was lovely and comforting and he made the procedure painless and efficient! Couldn't recommend more.

I have had several interactions with dentists over the years, and no one compares to this staff! Dr. Shafer fixed a broken filling/tooth of mine and it was quick, painless and perfect, all in one visit. The staff truly cares about their patients. They are always smiling and ready to make you feel comfortable. This is the best dentist I have ever visited.

Brandi did a wonderful job with my teeth cleaning. She set me at ease immediately, described what she was doing throughout the cleaning and made the experience as good as it could be with someone's hands welding sharp instruments inside my mouth. I have been going to Dr. Shafer's for the past fifteen years and he and his staff are great!
