Dr. Thakkar received his bachelors degree in Computer Science from Chicago, Illinois in 2005. He then moved to Boston to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During his senior year of dental school, he was honored to serve the veterans at the VA hospital in Togus, Maine. He graduated from dental school in 2009 and had an opportunity to help the underserved population in the south of Chicago for two years. He finally deiced to move to Texas in 2011 because he fell in love with the warm weather and warm-hearted people of Texas.
Dr. Thakkar has been practicing dentistry for over seven years and is committed to keeping up with the latest advances in modern dentistry. He completes many times the required number of continuing education hours every year. He genuinely believes every patient should be treated as one of his family members. He is passionate about dentistry and loves helping his patients improve their smiles and quality of life. Dr. Thakkar is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Texas Dental Association. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, and son, Yash when he is away from doing dentistry.
Dr. Walling was raised a Texan in Tomball, TX along with her 4 siblings. Growing up her interests mainly consisted of sports (swimming, Waterpolo, and gymnastics) and on weekends going to the beach, fishing, and doing anything outdoors. After high school, she went on to graduate from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a degree in biochemistry. She then was accepted into the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston where she completed her doctorate. Dr. Walling knew at the age of 4 that being a dentist was her dream and has worked in dental offices since she was 13 years old- that experience along with her formal education has helped shape the kind of doctor she is today. One of the many reasons she fell in love with dentistry is because she can watch her patients grow and maintain her patients oral health throughout their whole life, so she is happy to treat the whole family. As a mother of three herself, she knows how important it is to have pediatric patients comfortable and is very passionate about giving her patients the most pleasant experience no matter their age. She is a conservative dentist who loves to educate her patients so that we can work together to focus on not just oral health but your overall health. We look forward to enriching the lives and smiles of all who walk through our door.

I've been extremely satisfied with the staff and my dentist explains everything in detail, gives me options but only wants whats best for me and my health. They have an amazing and caring staff.

I can't say enough AMAZING things about this place. The Doctor and the Staff is incredible Alyssa was beyond helpful and understanding. This is the 3rd time I've been there, took both my boys 13,16 and they were wonderful then as well. Thank you all for being truly the type of place that cares and it shows!

It had been way too long since I've been to the dentist. Shaenfield smiles took care of me and my family with excellent care and they were very professional. They are amazing with kids too!

Dr. Messai and the staff are GREAT!!! They know me by name. If there is an urgent matter, they call back and get me in. They are always friendly and smiling. If you don't have a dentist, I highly recommend Shaenfield Smiles!!!

I scheduled my appointment due to pain. I was feeling on one of my caps. They did x-rays, cleaning and planned to fix some other tooth that had a cavity. The dentist told me the pain from the tooth. I had concerned for was fine and that I should see an orthodontist or specialist for it. When they were going to start fixing the cavity, they came in and told me that the doctor couldn't do it that day because he had to pick up his child. when I made the appointment they did tell me they closed at five and I asked them if they were able to Time or do I need to reschedule. The receptionist told me know everything would be fine and it would get done. So I left and pain still with nothing done but a cleaning. The receptionist politely asked to leave a review Later that evening I was in more pain than I was before. I called the next day and asked if I could come in and they could look at it because it was unbearable. When I went in, he again told me there was nothing wrong with that tooth. It could possibly be some trauma from something that I ate, and he did nothing for me. two weeks later I see a different dental place and he tells me that tooth/cap is infected and needs to be replaced and have a root canal. I can't believe I was sent away with nothing done by Shaenfield Smiles with clearly an old and infected tooth/cap. I will never recommend this place to anyone. I wasn't going to leave a review but after the second opinion I had somewhere else, I just had to. Tooth pain for over 3 weeks wasn't fun.

After 2 years going to them, appts times ran late to over 1 hr for waiting for a scheduled appt, out of network dentists performed work without informing me and ultimately no in network providers worked there as of now, definitely a non recommend

I've been going to this place for months now and have always had my Saturday appointments rescheduled due to their office being closed. I expressed my grievance to the clerk about this issue at my recent visit to their office months ago and was guaranteed that this issue would not happen again. I took the clerk's word and scheduled for a Saturday appointment. Days before my next Saturday appointment I get a call informing me that my appointment will need to be rescheduled because their office will be closed. This office does not realize that their customers clear up their schedules so they can make their appointments. They do not care about your time and do not value your grievances. Do yourself a favor and go else where for your dental work.

I'm new to the area and for some reason I thought I booked with a dentist across the street BUT I'm glad I booked at Shaenfield Smiles. Dr. Brahim Messai gives you so much information on all your concerns. His staff is super helpful, really with anything I needed they extended out a hand for help even when I didn't ask! (I had my two littles and forgot my stroller and they helped me distract them move them around - they are very good with kids! I found our new family dentist

It's been a while since I have been to dentist and this office is located very close to me so I decided to give it a try! I was pleased with availability because I was able to book over the weekend for a Monday appointment. I was able to fill out paperwork before appointment for a speedy check in. The staff was so nice and helpful. I was very nervous and they easily made the nerves go away. I got to watch a movie while my cleaning so that was a plus! The staff makes you feel so welcomed! I'm so happy I tried this office and I will be returning for future visits. :-)

The best part about Shaenfield Smiles is the people. Normally I have dreaded going to the dentist. Everyone there is wonderful. I love the way they treat me as a person. I have had not so pleasant dealings at other offices. The people here are fun, pleasant and very professional. They also deal with the VA so this too makes my visit easier.
