At Shaenfield Family Dentistry, we are led by Dr. Uzma Hasheem, an experienced and compassionate dentist dedicated to her patients. As a student, she was naturally drawn to the sciences and art. Her parents urged her to go into a career that helped people, and during a career fair, she learned more about how dentistry can combine that with her love of art and science. From there, she never looked back Dr. Hasheem loves working one-on-one with people and helping improve both their health and their confidence. She says that it was the best decision she ever made!
Dr. Hasheem has received her DMD degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Additionally, this is where Dr. Hasheem did her implant fellowship as well. She believes in helping the less fortunate and loves to give back to our community, such as her work volunteering at Brighterway Dental clinic in Phoenix, Arizona where she placed Implants for the homeless, veterans and working poor.
Dr. Hasheem is passionate about continuing to learn and staying up to date with the latest advancements in techniques and technology. She even attends courses in her free time to ensure that she is on the cutting edge of any new possibilities to bring back to her patients. She is constantly working to bring in treatments or techniques that can help patients to reduce chair time and anxiety.

Cindy Martinez is a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). She went to dental assisting at CHCP after high school graduation in 2016. She moved to San Antonio in 2006 from California and considers San Antonio her home now. Cindy has a nurses heart and loves caring for patients. She has training and experience with front desk duties as well. She prefers to help patients as an assistant because she enjoys helping with complicated procedures as she loves challenges. In her free time, Ms. Martinez enjoys cooking, baking and spending time with her lovely kids. She joined Shaenfield Family Dental because she says, This was my dream job. I always wanted to work here and when I got the job, I was super excited. I really like working alongside with Dr. Hasheem and the positive energy of the office. It gives me great joy to make patients feel comfortable, especially the ones that had bad dental experiences in the past. I want to change their perception with a great one.

It was my first time being to a dentist in a long time and this place was the best! So quick and so kind. Some dental offices can make you feel anxious but everyone there was so welcoming and reassuring. I would definitely recommend this office if you're looking for a dentist

Shaenfield family dental is Highly recommended! Dr. Hasheem is such a wonderful dentist. Very professional, sweet and she takes care of her patients. Very flexible as well with regards to scheduling an appointment. If I can rate her service as 10/10, i will give her perfect 10. It has always been a great dental experience with her and her staffs and with regards to cleaning or tooth extraction she has a very smooth hands and very careful.

Had an amazing experience here when in I went in for an emergency procedure. The facility is so new and clean. The dr is very sweet and you can tell she is very experienced. The cherry on top is watching Netflix on the TV on the ceiling!

My daughter went in for what she was told were small cavities to fill. She was in no pain and thought she would get ahead and have them filled. Came home and as soon as the pain meds wore off she was in extreme pain! Went back next day and was told that the filling that the dentist added was to close to the nerve and she would need a root canal! Oh and they don't do that work and she would need a specialist! So from no pain and a small cavity to extreme pain and a root canal! Shoddy work and no help! Do not go there!
