Dr. Gardner and Dr. Young are firm believers in patient education because they know that the more you learn about your teeth, the better you will be able to take care of them. They also take the time to work out a unique and cost-effective treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Gardner and Dr. Young go to great lengths to make all procedures gentle and painless and will always be your emergency dentist.
In 1995 Dr. Gardner received his Bachelors degree from the University of Utah in Medical Biology, then proceeded to obtain his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1999. The University of Michigan School of Dentistry is the number one dental school in the nation and the number two dental school in the world, priding themselves for their outstanding standard of excellence and the innovative research they put into the dentistry community.
Since graduation, Dr. Gardner has trained extensively in cosmetic procedures, IV sedation, root canal therapy, dental implants, laser gum therapy, orthodontics, Invisalign and Cerec one visit crown restorations. Dr. Gardner did his training in IV and oral sedation at the University of Southern California and is part of an elite group of dentists to hold an IV sedation permit in the state of Arizona. He is also one of only 600 dentists nationally who have trained at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry in San Jose, California and is licensed to perform Laser Periodontal Therapy. Dr. Gardner is your emergency, family, cosmetic and go-to dentist!
Dr. Young received his Baccalaureate of Sciences in Zoology from Brigham Young University. He went on to attend Oregon Health and Sciences University where he received his dental degree as a Doctor of Medical Dentistry. He graduated at the top of his class with both clinical and academic honors. He was selected for induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. This is a prestigious award given to those who excel not only academically but also display clinical excellence.
Dr. Young moved to Arizona in 2001 and has since been in private practice. He considers being a dentist a lifelong learning process and is a firm believer in continuing education. He has received special training in cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Central Arizona Dental Association. He has received special training in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He completed Bicon institutes surgical implant course. He believes in preventative dentistry and treats his patients with care and listens to their needs.
Melanie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University in 2003. She has been working with Shadow Ridge Dental Care for six years. Melanie is married, has one son and in her free time she enjoys working out, gardening, kayaking, and road trips with the family.
Brittney began her career in dentistry with Dr. Gardner 8 years ago. She is currently working towards her degree in nursing, she loves caring for patients, and is excited to do it in another aspect in the future. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as brushing up on the latest movies.
Jerel is a new addition to our team and is the first person most patients interact with at our office. He has 10 years of experience in the dental field. When he is not in the office, he likes to take spontaneous out of town trips, explore new foods, and spend time with family.

This place is always on top of their game. I drive 30+ miles just to go here... even got my husband to come and become a patient here. Everyone, and I mean from the front office staff to the back office staff, is so friendly. It's more like visiting extended family that also works on your mouth than just going to the dentist. Love how you don't have to answer a whole lot of questions while their hands are in your mouth... that always annoyed me at other places. They explain their findings without judgment and plot a course out for you. Thanks for making me actually want to go instead of dreading it...

Love this place! Everyone is very caring, helpful and very nice. I was referred here by a former boss. I had two teeth break and needed assistance fast. They got me in, cake up with a plan and as soon as I had clearance from another Physician I was good to go. I was very apprehensive about my procedure and the crew here was amazing. Very patient with my other medical issues and my fears. I highly recommend Shadow Ridge if you're looking for a new Dentist office or you are new to the area!
