Dr. Hammond and her staff treat each child as if they were family in a relaxed and compassionate environment. We also have extensive experience treating children with physical, emotional and behavioral special needs. We provide weighted blankets, screens above the chairs, aroma therapy, minimal sedation and more to create a calming environment.
With over 30 years of experience serving Iowa, Dr. Hammond has had the privilege of getting to know many families. Throughout this journey, she has been a steadfast advocate of childrens dental health from birth through college. As she embarks on the next phase of her career and returns to private practice at Shadow Creek Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Hammond hopes to treat each child as if they were family in a relaxed and compassionate environment.
Since graduating from the Loyola Chicago School of Dental Surgery with a doctorate degree and the University of Iowa School of Dentistry with a masters degree, Dr. Hammond has set her sights on becoming the most accomplished and respected pediatric dentist possible. Her impressive resume has included associate dentist, educator, business owner of a solo and multi-practitioner practice, and manager of a dental service operation (DSO). Excited to return to private practice, Dr. Hammond and the rest of the staff at Shadow Creek are thrilled to offer the highest quality dental care in a brand new, state-of-the-art clinic.
Tracy has a degree from Des Moines Area Community College in human services and is also a registered dental assistant. She has worked in the dental field for 20 years. Tracy enjoys meeting new people and working with the public to make sure their experience at the dentist is a pleasant one. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family (her nephews are her pride and joy) and friends, reading, movies, sports and is an avid Iowa State fan.
Carlos has been working in the dental field for over three years and has found it to be his passion. He loves meeting new people and enjoys sharing the perspectives of both patients and providers. Carlos has a beautiful family with whom he loves to spend time, and he is a fan of all things outdoors. He loves hunting and working on various mechanical projects, including vintage cars and motorcycles.
I have been a dental Assistant for 11 years. I enjoy working with families and helping their children. I love spending time with my family which keep me very busy. I have three kids that are my life, we love to travel and enjoy new experiences.
Lauren is a registered dental assistant and has been with Dr. Hammond for her entire career. She is a graduate of Drake University and enjoys working with children and families. Lauren loves spending time with her grandchildren, exercising and is an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Roberto is a Registered Dental Assistant and Laboratory Technician. He has been a dental assistant for over 15 years and has been fabricating custom dental appliances for over 20 years. He enjoys working with kids and is fluent in both Spanish and English. Roberto loves spending time with his wife Christina, three children, and new grandchild. He also enjoys gardening and dancing.

My appointment was at 3:30 but when they text it's moved to 3:50. This wasn't the first time. It has happen a lot. This is the 3-4 time that my appointment is never the same. I came here at 3:40 ish and we waited for more than 40 minutes to get checks. Someone that showed up after me got to go in first.

Got referred here they was supposed to set my child up to get their tooth pulled they said they'd call in July ...they never did now I'm stuck finding another place that can help my child out! Don't waste your time with this place it's ridiculous

I'm terribly disappointed in this office. I was sent here as a referral. We set up an appointment for a month in advance. We have many doctors appointments set up in advance for our family of 6 and I rely on accurate text reminders. They sent the reminder, not to me, but to my husband who works at night. I missed the appointment, of course, because they texted him on his way to bed at 7:01 am and he didn't tell me. We called to explain and the dentist will not forgive this oversight. Now my 8y old son, through no fault of his own, cannot get his dental work done because our insurance company is not accepted by most dentists.

My daughter had an accident at school with an old crown and her dentist office wouldn't accept our insurance anymore. I called Shadow Creek and they got her in the next day and the procedure in that same week! They fixed the problem plus some! I will DEFINITELY be taking all my littles here. Such a friendly environment and awesome, friendly staff!

From the moment you walk in you feel comfortable. The staff is very friendly and listen to your concerns. Dr. Hammond also listens and goes the extra mile to explain the reasons she recommends different treatment plans. My son needed multiple treatments and got it all done the same day. He went in and came out unfazed. He did not feel pain nor was he scared. Thank you Shadow Creek Dentistry for giving my son a good outlook on the dentist.

We couldn't be happier with the treatment by the staff and the work done for our child. They are always sooo polite and all about making your child comfortable and happy. It's never easy for children to be introduced to a dentist but trust me this place will help your child build confidence and love to have their teeth worked on. We are so grateful to have found this place !

Wonderful group of professionals who really seem to care about our kids comfort and wellbeing. Honestly feel like this is the best pediatric dental place I've ever encountered. Clean, caring, and so kind. Would recommend to anyone, especially with nervous kiddos. They do so well!

I can't say enough good things about Shadow Creek! My 5 year old was originally supposed to get a crown over one of her molars, but it turned into a tooth infection that they handled very quickly. My daughter has always disliked the dentist, but now she's excited for her visits because the staff is amazing! Definitely recommending them from now on

I can not put into words how amazing the staff and dentist at this office are, not only during but after procedures! My little one went in thinking we would be pulling a front eye tooth and instead the dentist surprised us by putting a tooth colored cap on! Doesn't seem like much, but to my little princess it was a big worry. Our day was made, she came out with the most beautiful smile! 10/10 for sure!

We have followed Dr.Hammond to Waukee to her brand new pediatric dental office and are so impressed with her new facility! It's so kid friendly and of course offers the same quality of care she is known for. The staff is friendly, as usual, and ready to make our experience easy and comfortable. Dr. Hammond has been our daughter's dentist for a long time!! Our daughter has special needs which Dr. Hammond & her staff have taken into consideration on how they take care of her! My husband & I could not ask for better care that Dr. Hammond & her staff provide!!! I highly recommend Shadow Creek especially for the special needs community!!!!
