While we work very hard to create a comforting environment, we also understand that not all patients are as excited as Dr. Lopez to step into our dental office, which is why we offer care that allows patients to relax prior to their treatment. We provide sedation dentistry for anxious patients looking for a little encouragement in receiving extensive dental services, such when undergoing an extraction or a pulpectomy.
Dr. A. Melissa Lopez is a Chicago-native who recently relocated to the Bay Area from the Midwest to join her husband, Dr. Ricky Singh. Dr. Melissa graduated from Chicagos St. Ignatius College Prep in 1995. She then moved to the East Coast to attend the University of Pennsylvania where over the next seven years she earned a BS in Biology from the College of Arts and Sciences, a DMD from the School of Dental Medicine and a MSEd from the Graduate School of Education. Dr. Lopez then returned to her hometown of Chicago to complete a general practice residency and a pediatric dental specialty residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago respectively.
Dr. Lopez has served organized dentistry and the public through several positions on committees and boards of the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, the Greater Chicago Hispanic Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society and the Illinois State Dental Society; she is also a trained spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a fellow of the American College of Dentists, and has helped film a pre-natal video for the American Dental Association.
In 2010, Dr. Melissa completed the PURE Yoga 200hr teacher training to become a certified yoga teacher. Besides her love of yoga, she also enjoys reading and spending time outdoors. She is learning the art of cooking and would love it if you shared one of your favorite recipes with her!Dr. Melissa provides care in English & Spanish.
Dr.JudythLee was born in Los Angeles and lived there until she was in middle school. Her formative years of childhood were spent in Hartwell, Georgia and she graduated from Hart County High School. She studied Microbiology at the University of Georgia and obtained her Bachelors inScience degree. Dr. Lee then moved to Boston and obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree fromTuftsUniversitySchool of Dental Medicine. She continued her post-doctoral education and clinical training at NYU Lutheran Medical Center serving the underserved population of the Eastern Shore of Maryland through the pediatric dentistry residency program. After residency, Dr. Lee practiced in New York City and New Jersey.
During her time in NYC, Dr. Lee got engaged and has recently relocated to the Bay Area to join her husband, Mike. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the Bay Area with Mike and has adapted to the health-conscious and active lifestyle prevalent here! You can also find her at Clay by the Bay pursuing her other passion, pottery, and creating ceramic pieces for her new home.
Dr. Lee is a board certified pediatric dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and California Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Great office, love the doctors and staff everyone is professional, friendly and very patient with the kids. My son used to be very afraid of the dentist. They made him feel comfortable to the point he let them take X-rays for the first time. Thank you Dr. Lopez, Dr. Lee and staff.

1st time both of my boys have gone to a dentist since we moved back to the bay area. We where so happy we bumped into them during the farmers market. The receptionist was understanding and got the boys settled before the Hygienist Mrs. Celly (hope I spelled that correctly) got the boys settled, allowed them to pick the toothpaste needed for each kid to use during their check ups, cleaning and x rays. We where then greeted by Dr. Lee ( hope inspeeled that right as well) but she proceeded to check on gun health and teeth status. They both discussed issues of concern and a plan of care that we can adhere to. What a great impression. Definitely made a wonderful 1st impression and we set up the 6 month follow up already. A little goody bag was given to the kids and some glow in the dark stickers where a perk. Kids where smiling bright and wanting to stay longer.

Dr. Melissa and Hygienist Denise are so good with 4YO. My child can get nervous with visits, but their care and communication is really effective at getting her calm (Frozen on the monitor also helps). For the parents, they are very good at communicating and helping me understand how to be preventative (no cavity club!), as well as what to look for down the road as baby teeth start to get replaced. Also very appreciative of how clean and compliant with protocols to keep everyone safe during COVID. Also very convenient and easy to get to / park which is a plus.

Dr. Lopez is super caring and kind. She really cares about my kids. The hygienists are very enthusiastic and very patient and understanding with my kids as well. The front desk staff is very approachable and friendly and always answer my questions. I highly recommend this practice!

Professional staff, clean facility. The staff were so patient with my two year old's first dental experience. They had toys and videos in the dental chair area to help calm him down. Easy info portal available to submit details online before the visit.

Every single person working at this office knows exactly how to make kids of all ages feel comfortable during visits that could be scary for them. My daughter actually looks forward to seeing Dr Melissa and to get her teeth cleaned while watching movies. I could not be happier to have found this practice and I highly recommend!!!

My five year old needed a tooth extracted that she knocked loose. We were all dreading the procedure. The team including Dr. Lee and (I think) Tamara Munos (she was wearing a mask and glasses, so I am not feeling super confident about her name, but she was awesome) were incredible with my daughter. After they got her calmed down and relaxed, they had to work on getting me calmed down and relaxed (I was more anxious than my daughter). The overall experience with them was amazing. The entire staff and Office are friendly and inviting. I'm very thankful we had them perform this procedure for us.

Excellent experience visiting Shadelands Pediatric Dentistry as always. Everybody - receptionist, doctor assistant, hygienist and doctor treated my son very friendly and warmly. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable. My son is 2 ,he was very comfortable there. I was not sure how he was going to handle his first time visit to the dentist, but he was calm and happy . They know how to handle little ones.

My 2 yr old toddler just went today. I'm very impressed with how patient they are. Assistant (sorry I didn't get her name) and dr. Lee did a great job. It's great to find a good pediatrician dentist so she can grow up going here. Definitely recommending it to other parents in town.

The staff was was friendly and prepared. I love the minimal wait time between check in and actually taking us to our room. The dental hygienist was very patient and thorough in explaining every procedure to my 4yr old. She made her feel comfortable and welcomed. We had an amazing experience with Ms. Denise and Dr. Lee.
