Dr. Sferra attended the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry where he received his DDS Degree. Following graduation, he was chosen to participate in the General Dental Residency Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center ultimately serving as Chief Dental Resident there. After practicing in Manhattan for 5 years, Dr. Sferra became concerned that the periodontal needs of his patients were not being properly addressed. He was accepted into the postgraduate program in Periodontics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he was certified in the dental specialty of Periodontics. Dr. Sferras knowledge of the periodontal implications of restorative dental procedures has enabled him to provide a unique level of patient care.
Dr. Sferra is a member of the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association, the New York County Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontology and the North East Society of Periodontics. He was nominated by his colleagues to membership in the prestigious American College of Dentists; a distinction shared by only three percent of dentists nationwide and is a member of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Sferra is an Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Associate Attending Dentist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. A member and Past President of the New York Academy of Dentistry and the New York Chapter of Delta Sigma Delta International Dental Fraternity, he served as International President of that organization.
