$200 for a less than 5 minute consultation. Over $1000 for 1 tooth extraction. Dr. Brian Yang did not even use topical numbing before sticking a needle in my gums. When I asked why not he says " most people are under anesthesia during this "

The WORST experience!! I waited over 3 months for a Wisdom tooth consultation for my son, and flew him across the country from college in order to fit in the initial appointment prior to having his wisdom teeth extraction. At the appointment, they assured us they would handle filing Insurance claims with our Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier plan, and we learned they are NOT in network, so the entire procedure will need to be "paid out of pocket." At the consultation my son was told to expect a check reimbursing for the $305.00 consultation (X-rays + appointment cost). 2 weeks later, we received a letter from Delta Dental saying SF Oral Surgery is a "NON PARTICIPATING DENTIST" and there would be no reimbursement. After several telephone calls and emailing the letter to their office, and promises to be called back, I had to go ahead and cancel my son's surgery appointment. Very frustrating they were not forthcoming at the time we made our appointment that they are out of network with our insurance, and that we would need to pay out of pocket. I would have worked with our primary dentist to find another oral surgeon that is covered, saving my son the extra flight home as well.

BEWARE! Like one of the previous review stated, SF Oral Surgery provided wrong insurance estimate. On my first visit, they told me my insurance will cover at 90%. When I received my insurance bill, I was only reimbursed at about 30%. Either they failed to get a real estimate from the insurance, or they purposely gave the wrong estimate, so they can make their client to pay the fees right away, and making them thinking they will get most of the money back later. 90% vs 30% that's a big difference. Most dental offices work with insurance companies on a daily basis, it's hard to believe that this insurance estimate is a mistake. They charged me $855 for removal of one wisdom tooth. I was referred to them by a coworker who has the same insurance as mine, and they charged her a little over $1000 for four wisdom tooth.

Don't trust this office! Their estimates for my insurance were entirely wrong, they didn't bother to contact my insurance to get a realistic estimate, and now 3 months later they contact me (for the first time) to pay the difference! (that's over $1,000) It's not my fault that their office got the estimates wrong, I paid the difference per the contract the day of my surgery. I wouldn't recommend this scam to anyone.

Dr. Michael Chan removed my ten-year old daughter's bottom molars. She was fearful going in, but Dr. Chan and his staff were kind and competent, and went above and beyond to make her comfortable. She left the procedure exclaiming how *great* the visit was- extolling the staff and doctor's kindness. Who does that after having their molars removed?! This office is a jewel in San Francisco.

I had an emergency about my wisdom tooth. I was unable to open my month for days, even to eat. And they did the best job ever. All the pain disappeared after the surgery and I removed three wisdoms. They all are awesome. They keep calling to check on you and make sure you're safe. I really appreciate their job. I recommend SF Oral Surgery!

I was very happy with my experience here. I had an extraction and bone graft (surgery #1) and a few months later an implant (surgery #2) by Dr. Yang. At both the surgeries, plus all the check-ups, everyone was so nice and professional. Everything went very smoothly with the procedures. Healed up quickly. 10/10, I find dental procedures really scary sometimes but they made it ok.

I had an implant done by Dr Michael Y Chan, and I will recommend him to anyone, who have a couple of chronic illnesses like I do. I had developed an infection in a tooth with a root canal and It had to come out. Quite complicated, but Dr Chan's confidence, that everything would be Ok in the end, gave me the courage to get through this with a great end result . Smart, polite and gentle. Highly recommend him.
