We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.
It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. I have been going to Sexton Dental for years now and the services, care and experiences I have there are always wonderful. The staff is extremely personable and friendly. It is evident that they really care about their patients. I used to have horrible anxiety about the dentist after a previous bad experience somewhere else. Now, I look forward to and enjoy my appointments at Sexton Dental. They make sure my comfortability is their top priority.

My wife and I recently moved here and needed to establish a relationship with a new dentist. We shopped around and found Delaware Dental which was nicely located next to Kroger. We went inside to get a take on cleanliness which passed with flying colors. We chatted with the receptionist. Kayla is a great asset to the office. We took a chance and set appointments. The experience was the best cleanings we have ever had. Dr. Sexton and his staff did not try to sell me more than I needed. I am highly impressed with the entire staff and their knowledge of Dental practices. This is an update, four years later and still with Sexton Dental. My first impression was spot on. I have had a wonderful experience with them. I have needed them at the last minute twice for what I thought was an emergency for me at least. Both times they got me right in and once they stayed after hours for me to get fixed. That just does not happen in most places. I highly recommend John Sexton and his wonderful team.

This was my first dental appointment in several years, and I arrived with some apprehension about both the state of my teeth and the nature of the care I would receive (to say nothing of mild anxiety re: COVID exposure, with two young kids at home). Dr. Sexton and his staff deliver extremely thoughtful, personalized attention, from the super-conscientious front desk admin kindly following up with my insurance to hygienist Megan, whose warm demeanor and thorough-but-casual explanations put me at immediate ease. Dr. Sexton himself was genuinely affable, professional, and competent. Everyone in the office was masked and each exam room has an air purifier; these and other protocols are quietly well-considered but never overshadowed the staff's excellent bedside manner, which seemed to be first priority. The overall feeling I left with was one of gratitude and reassurance I had made the right choice. Thank you so much!

They're absolutely on top of taking care of appointments, as long as you don't have any government funded insurance or you aren't a trans person requesting your correct name be used when being spoken to instead of the name you were born having! Karrie at the front desk is an absolute peach, I suspect her name is actually short for "Karen" because that's really the personality I get from her over the phone. If you're not absolutely able to pay for your dental care out of your pocket, don't even try. Condescending and too pretentious for me.

I had a great experience with Dr. Sexton's office! His staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Dr. Sexton explained my dental issue very thoroughly and gave me several options on care. I wasn't necessarily unhappy with my last dentist, but there was still a big difference between that practice and Dr. Sexton's in the time he took with me, and how responsive and thorough his staff was. Highly recommended!

The associates at Sexton Dental are so supportive and friendly. If you are looking for a new Dentist this is the place to go. My wife is even happier with their team as they are so accomodating to her needs. Particularly with our children. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
