I was originally born in Caracas, Venezuela, and my family and I immigrated to the United States in the fall of 1987. As a boy, my family instilled in me the importance of education, perseverance, integrity, respect and loyalty among other values.
I attended Wheeling Jesuit University, where I received my Bachelor of Science. I continued on to earn a masters in microbiology from Thomas Jefferson University. I graduated from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2011. Since graduating from dental school, I have acquired additional training in areas of Invisalign, BOTOX, implant dentistry, full-mouth rehabilitation and obstructive sleep apnea.
I am so excited about being a part of the team at Severn River Dental Health Center. I feel so amazingly blessed to have found a profession that I love and that I can share that passion with my staff and my patients. I really believe that, along with Dr. Yeremi (my hubby) and our awesome staff, we are changing the way that people experience dentistry.
Whether I am just keeping my patients healthy or helping them create a new, comfortable smile, it is truly a privilege to serve this community and all of the wonderful people of Severna Park and the surrounding area. I have been practicing here for over five years now, but I am originally from the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia.
I met my husband, Yeremi, during my first year of college and spent many years visiting Maryland. I always knew it was where I wanted to settle down, work and raise my family. When I am not providing my favorite treatments, such as custom dentures or oral appliances for sleep apnea, I am home enjoying quality time with my beautiful children Genevieve and Graynger.
Dr. Emily Sewell, originally from Scranton, PA, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Scranton. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery and graduated magna cum laude, third in her class, from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She is currently an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Sewell provides her patients with the latest technology. She has been extensively trained in digital dentistry, BOTOX treatments, Invisalign, and expanding her dental knowledge every day.
Fun fact: Dr. Sewell has visited over 50 National Historic Sites and Parks across the country; her favorite site is The Hermitage, Andrew Jacksons estate in Nashville, TN. She even got lost in the Mojave National Reserve without cell phone service for several hours.
Born and raised in southern West Virginia, Deanna attended Marshall University and Winfield Technical School, where she received her dental assisting training. She moved to Maryland in 2003, where she met the man she would marry, and has one daughter. Deanna has over 10 years of experience in the dental field.
Ronald has a very important job sterilizing hundreds of instruments throughout the day and constantly sanitizing the office. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in cell biology. He is pursuing a career as a medical lab scientist. While at UMD, Ronald was part of the Coalition of Latino Students, which organized the Latino Heritage Month on campus.
Margaret graduated with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She was previously a certified dental assistant. Margaret lives in Severna Park with her husband, four children and four cats. She is an avid Washington Capitals hockey fan.
Kira is originally from Albany, New York. She earned her Business Management Degree from SUNY Cobleskill, and earn her Dental Hygiene Degree from the University of Cincinnati. She has been a dental hygienist for years. Kira has lived all over the country including New York, Florida, Kentucky, Nevada and Maryland. She has been married for 34 years, and has two kids and two cats.
Stephanie has worked in the dental field for over four years. Presently, she is Severn River Dentals patient care coordinator. She is also a certified dental assistant and a certified orthodontic assistant. Originally from northern Georgia, she moved to Maryland six years ago with her husband. They have a wonderful daughter, and in their spare time, they like to go on walks and have dance parties.
Beth, an eastern shore native, is a dental assistant who has been working at Severn River Dental for over three years. Previously, she worked in physical therapy for 10 years. Her favorite part of her job is the patients she gets to work with. She lives in Severna Park with her husband and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the movies, bike riding and traveling.
Mayra has been a qualified dental assistant for over 20 years. She is originally from Guatemala and speaks fluent Spanish (Habla Espanol!). She started her dental career with 10 years in endodontics before moving into general dentistry. She lives in Pasadena with her husband, three children and four dogs. Family time is everything.

Was very pleasant with a lovely helpful staff! First time I've had a back massage while having my teeth cleaned! For those of us using walkers or other such equipment would dearly love to have the curb in front of the entrance eliminated and that the heavy door could be opened with a touch.

Going to the Dentist is usually not a thing people look forward to doing. This Dental Health Center Office is an exception. This office has wonderful people in it! They are friendly from the moment you walk in the door. They listen to you, they are thorough in their work, and it's great that they help you make the right decisions. I've moved many times in may life and career. I've had many Dentists...this is by far the best!

Over the last 7 years, Dr. Yeremi and his team have taken such great care of our family. We have 4 kiddos that see him and his team! From cleanings to root canals and everywhere in between, they are fantastic!

I absolutely love Dr. Canizales. (Dr.Jeremy) He is the most caring, understanding dentist I have ever been to. He understands my fears and always does his best to keep any pain to a bare minimum. He takes the time to explain every procedure and talk to me. I never feel rushed. His entire staff is wonderful to work with. This is a group of very caring people. Fantastic quality of service and care from staff and Dr. Yeremi. Everyone at the office was wonderful, highly knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Yeremi identified a tooth/bone shard and due to his expertise and experience helped resolved a problem that has been lingering for many months. Also highly recommend the CEREC Same Day Crown service at Severn River Dental. It saved a ton of time, visits, and hassle, it is the most advance and best process. There was no need for a traditional mold, it is just a 3D digital scan, and having the crown crafted on-site and fitting/adjustments can be made immediately. It does take about 40 min for the crown to be machine carved/crafted on site but far simpler than having to wait weeks for a crown as required by the old method. The crown I received fit perfectly and looked very natural. It was the most natural and comfortable crown I've ever had. I would only do this process going forward if I ever needed another crown. The out-of-pocket/co-pay cost after insurance was about the same as what a regular crown would be because this only took one visit vs having to do multiple visits per the "traditional" way.

Margaret did a very thorough job in cleaning my teeth. Yes, I have lots of hot tea stains. She is very knowledgeable and most importantly showed she cares about what she does. I am impressed that dentist took actual picture, where it showed all the teeth troubles, very vivid pictures vs the xray. Another person, Amy and the other front person were very helpful and quick in getting our appointments, understanding of proper payments. Thank you very much to all of you. Zubair Ahmed

You guys are totally awesome! I never really liked going to the dentist in fact avoided it like the plague for years but I am happy to say that I have finally found a wonderful Dentist with awesome staff that I feel extremely comfortable with and almost look forward to coming to see.

Great job doing a cap. They can fabricate them on site. Install was good. A little too tall but they adjusted it later with no concerns. Good, professional team.
