Dr. Himanand Akkannappa or Dr. A as he is called by his patients, graduated from Nova Southeastern University, Ft Lauderdale, Fl. As a clinician Dr. A is known for his gentle care and excellent clinical skills. Dr. A has more than 14 years of clinical experience as a qualified dentist. He has been practicing in Hillsborough, Hernando and Pasco County since 2003. You can trust Dr. A to take a personal interest and work to ensure that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care.
Dr. Mousa was raised in New Jersey right across the river from New York City. He attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology where he received toth a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Mousa graduated with honors from the prestigious New York University School of Dentistry, ranked as one of the top 10 dental schools in the world. Additionally, Dr. Mousa was a researcher at both the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and the Department of Biomaterials at the New York University College of Dentistry. He has completed research and published scientific articles pertaining to dental implants, periodontal regeneration and grafting. Dr. Mousa volunteers at St. Luke's Community Clinic treating the underserved population. This program provides dental care to those in need at little or no cost. Dr. Mousa is a member in good standing of both the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. In his spare time, Dr Mousa enjoys travel and photography.
Kris is one of our two dental hygienists and has been with us since 1988. Her 29 years of dentistry and experience with patients creates a comfortable environment that allows even the most nervous patient to feel at ease. She always provides comprehensive care and educates the patient on how they can maintain or improve their oral health. She is always pleasant and cheerful and takes pride in making your visit with us enjoyable.

Great office! This was my first visit, and everyone was so wonderful. They were able to do same day procedure! I was in and out so fast.

Gary Longo 6-30-2022 "After having Dr. Helmy replace an old crown in March-22 that had fallen out, I had him replace another old crown that I have had for 20 years. His prices are fair, and his work is exceptional!!!!! He explains all treatments before performing them and tries to come up with a few options to fit your budget. Overall, I strongly recommend him!!!! And as far as the staff goes, I have nothing but high praises for them from the front to the back of the office, they all shine in my book. His assistant Rachel is a real perfectionist and very gentle as well as Dr, Helmy, "Rachel, thank you for molding another crown that literally needed no adjustment when fitted into place". Thank you all your care & for not making this a nightmare as I have heard from so many other people and their dentists.

I can't express how grateful I am that I am a patient here now. Dr.Helmy does phenomenal work. The staff are incredibly kind and fantastic at their jobs. Katie up front makes you feel at home and helps to shake the nerves that being at the dentist can bring up. Rachel is hands down the best dental assistant there is. She is so efficient and works her tail off! I'd give 10 stars if they'd let me!

I've been a patient for less than a year and I am so happy I have FINALLY found a dentist (and his staff) that is honest and trustworthy. Dr. Helmy is fantastic! He is so patient answering all my questions and giving honest feedback and answers. He doesn't oversell you on procedures and is straightforward. He is kind and very gentle and does fantastic work! Summer was great with my cleanings and was easy to talk to and Rachel has been my nurse the last couple procedures I've had done and she is great! Great personality, super patient with my questions, gentle, and funny. Katie at the front desk is hilarious, nice and straightforward. I couldn't be happier with this practice. First I had the pleasure of meeting Katie, I knew I was going to like her after our phone conversation I did! Then I met Rachel so nice informative and very knowledgeable, answered all my questions and then some! Then this wonderful Dentist came in, he was so nice and caring, made me feel very relaxed. THIS office is top notch. I was having an issue with a tooth I called them they got me in right away the staff was so accommodating and friendly and they took care of the problem. I couldn't have had a better experience!!!

Can't say enough good things about this practice. From front desk to the assistant to Hygienist and to the Dr. These are the best in town. I had one extraction done and no bleeding and no pain the next day. I had deep cleaning very gentle Hygienist. Their rate is very reasonable for the service. Blessing to all of you.

I am so glad to have this opportunity to praise the work of everyone in this practice especially since I have been a patient here since the 1990s. I have not told them enough how much I appreciate all they do for me!. All the doctors, hygienist, dental assistants and office staff are pros!

I wish it were possible to leave 10 stars! I have been a patient here for 5 months. I've had all kinds of treatments - fillings, crowns, extractions and had a partial denture made. All of them were done with great care and professionalism. But most of all I can't say enough about the friendly, upbeat, fun atmosphere in this office. Katie, Summer and Rachel are so kind - awesome actually - and both Dr Mousse and Dr Helmy do their best to lower the stress and anxiety that can accompany a dental visit I'm so glad I found this practice!

I've been a patient at Setlur Dental for a couple of years now and I've had quite a bit of work done on my teeth for years prior at other dentists. I can say without hesitation that this is the best and most patient friendly dental office I've ever been to. I will never ever go anywhere else for dental work. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and companionate, and the dentists (I've had both Dr. Helmy as well as Dr. A work on me) got me through some really rough times with my teeth. Very reasonably priced for those with or without insurance. I've had to go in for emergency type work multiple times and they got me right in and made sure I was taken care of. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. You get professional and personal service here unlike most of the "chain" dental offices... A+++++ Thank you all at Setlur Dental!
