Eric V. Sesselmann, DDS was born and raised in Muskegon and grew up in the Beachwood area. After graduating from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1974, he attended Michigan Technological University (MTU) on a wrestling scholarship. He received his bachelors degree in chemistry from MTU in 1978 and then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 1982.

Upon graduation, Dr. Eric went into practice with his father, Dr. Ernest J. Sesselmann, who began practicing dentistry in Muskegon after graduating from Loyola Dental School in 1960. Dr. Eric became a solo practitioner when his father retired in 1989. Dr. Eric recently welcomed Dr. Eric V Sesselmann Jr. into his dental practice, officially starting the 3rd generation of Sesselmann dentists!

Dr. Eric Sr. and Jill, his wife of over 38 years, have four children. Besides Eric Jr., they have three daughters (all engineers), three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law and four beautiful grandchildren. Dr. Eric can frequently be found doing his lawn mowing or at his office or home, but he also enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing, racquetball and biking. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his family especially the grandchildren.

Eric V. Sesselmann Jr. graduated class of 2009 from Muskegon Catholic Central High School and went on to complete his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Grand Valley State University in 2013. He earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from Midwestern University in Chicago in 2017. During his time at Midwestern University, Dr. Eric received the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Dental Student Award and the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Illinois Award of Excellence. He then completed a one-year residency at Jersey City Medical Center, where he studied advanced surgical techniques.

His goal as a dentist is to provide patients with comprehensive dental treatment of the highest quality.
