Dr. Serafin and Dr. Shore are very happy to have the opportunity to return to central Pennsylvania. Having grown up in Mechanicsburg Dr. Serafin was excited to return homeclose to family and friends to continue his dental career. Dr. Shore, having grown up in the Philadelphia area has quickly adopted the Carlisle area as her home. They are both enjoying establishing long term relationships with their patients as well as getting to know them on a more personal level.

Dr. Serafin completed his undergraduate degree at Susquehanna University and Dr. Shore studied at the University of Richmond prior to them both attending Temple University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation in 2001 both doctors pursued further training in Allentown. Dr. Serafin completed his residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Dr. Shore trained at Sacred Heart Hospital. This time allowed them to become more proficient in all aspects of general dentistry.

Prior to their move to Carlisle both Dr. Serafin and Dr. Shore practiced in separate offices in Lancaster County where they were able to further their skills both in general and cosmetic dentistry. When the opportunity to purchase long time Carlisle dentist Dr. Kent Rentchlers practice they jumped at the ability to pursue their dream of owning their own practice together.

Dr. Serafin and Dr. Shore are actively involved in continuing education and attend numerous seminars nationally on a yearly basis to ensure that they are able to provide the best and most up to date care for their patients. They are both members of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and also several local study clubs. Outside of the office Drs. Serafin and Shore can be found enjoying many outdoor activities especially with their two young children Matthew and Emily.

StacyStacy is a familiar face as she has been a dental hygienist for over 20 years. A native of western Pennsylvania, she started her career in Carlisle in 1989 after graduating with a Bachelors of Science degree from West Virginia University. Stacy has a tremendous love for her chosen profession thanks in large part to the wonderful relationships she has built with her patients and her other team members at SFD.

AdilaAdila grew up in Bosnia and came to the United States at the age of 17. She re-joined the Serafin Family Dentistry team in 2010 after graduating, with her anesthesia certification, from Harrisburg Area Community Colleges Dental Hygiene Program. Previously, she had worked in the practice as a dental assistant for 5 years. She and her husband, Damir, live in Carlisle with their daughter and son. It is very rewarding to teach my patients the importance of good oral health and have them realize what a difference it can make in their smile and overall health!

KarenKaren joined our Serafin Family Dentistry team in 2008 as a business assistant but, has worked in the dental field since 1997. Previously, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 7 years. Karen and her husband, Mark have 3 daughters, a son and 2 grandchildren. The best part of my day is putting patients at ease the moment they walk through our door. I love the relationships I have built with them over the years!

KimKim joined the Serafin Family Dentistry team in 2013 as a dental assistant. She completed her assistant training in 2011 at Harrisburg Area Community College. Outside of the office Kim and her husband keep busy with their two active boys. She is also very creative and in her spare time enjoys crafting, painting and decorating.

AngieAngie has worked as a Dental Assistant for over 20 years and has been part of our team since 2005. She completed her Dental Assisting training at Harrisburg Academy of Medical Arts and Business in 1991. Angie grew up in Perry County, where she and her family continue to reside. In her spare time she and her sons, Josh and Bill are active members of the MDA and enjoy traveling and exploring new places. My favorite aspect of dentistry has remained the same over the years, I truly enjoy helping people.

Periodontitis, or periodontal disease, is an infection of the tissues and bones supporting the teeth. If this infection progresses without treatment, you are at risk of irreversible damage such as tooth loss and jaw bone loss. Our family dentist in Carlisle, PA, will determine what type of treatment is appropriate for you depending on the stage of gum disease.
