I grew up in Las Vegas from 4th grade through High school. I graduated from Clark High School. I graduated from Brigham Young University after serving two years as a missionary for the LDS church in Portugal. I attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco and was in the top 10% of my class. I served two years as a lieutenant in the Public Health Service working with the Migrant farmworkers in Lamont, California. I practiced as a general dentist in Bakersfield, CA for six years before returning to San Francisco for a two-year Prosthodontic Residency at the San Francisco Veterans Hospital in conjunction with the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry. I also taught while in that program at UCSF, and I worked in their Myofacial Pain center learning to treat the very difficult pain patients.
My wife, Karen and I have been married for almost thirty years. We have three children. Ryan is a certified Arborist and Tree Care specialist here in Las Vegas. Andrea is living in Fort Collins, Colorado after finishing her degree in Animal Science. Dana is serving as an LDS or Mormon missionary in the Dallas, Texas area learning Spanish and working with the Spanish speaking people in that area.
I have been flying airplanes as a licensed pilot since 1977 and became a flight instructor in 2001. I work in the dental office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and teach people to fly on Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. I fly a Cessna 310 and a Cherokee 235. I work a lot with computers and the Boy Scouts of America. Each year we try and do something to give back to those around us. Several years ago we went with the LDS Academy of Dentists to Honduras at Christmas time and spent a week doing free dentistry for those in Choloteca, Honduras. We brought our own supplies and instruments and the Dental School in Tegucigalpa provided the chairs, sterilizers, x-rays, and compressors that the Academy had donated in previous years. We treated over 450 people that week including placing some implants for one lady with a very loose denture. For the last several years we have had a Christmas party for our patients and they have donated clothes and toys for the kids at Child Have and Shade Tree Shelter.
As an advanced surgical prosthodontist, I am often able to offer options that allow you to improve your smile while still being able to meet your other obligations. Often doing nothing lets a small problem become larger and more expensive. We often develop treatment options that allow you to start with one part of the treatment and then gradually build upon that treatment to slowly move to where you would eventually like to be.

My 14 yr old daughter was evaluated for a cavity by her previous dentist and told "decay was so bad that tooth needed to be pulled" That is pretty devestating news for a 14yr old. Before we proceeded with getting her tooth pulled, we decided to get another opinion and went to Dr. Brooksby. Dr. Brooksby answered the phone himself and booked the appointment the same day we called given the nature of the situation. The office is located in the Sequim Safeway parking lot. We were greeted very warmly and Dr. Brooksby took the time to make my daughter comfortable and at ease. After a detailed exam, he laid out all the options keeping cost in mind. Dr. Brooksby used ozone therapy in addition to traditional dental methods and was able to save my daughter's tooth. We did not have to have it pulled. He took time to explain everything. We felt incredibly comfortable with his professional knowledge, bedside manner and overall kindness and attention to our needs. Dr. Brooksby and his office is a humble setting, but his expertise and kindness set him apart as a "diamond in the rough" and Sequim is lucky to have him.

The Doctor took the time to teach me about my teeth and shows patients their X-rays, explaining what everything is. He did a great job cleaning my teeth and checking my sore tooth, and I'm normally scared to go to any dentist. We were actually laughing alot!
