Dr. Donna's dental education began with an AAS Degree in Dental Hygiene from Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York. While practicing as a hygienist in various dental offices throughout multiple states, Donna experienced firsthand the callous, mechanical delivery of care that is often the norm in the industry.Vowing to improve the system from within, she committed to becoming a dentist while balancing a life as a naval officer's wife and mother of two small children.
This meant taking dental school prerequisite courses in three different states and seeking admissionto a dental school that was near her husband's duty station in Charleston, South Carolina. Despite her husband's deployments and even a category 4 hurricane that ravagedher home, Dr. Donna graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with multiple awards for academic and clinical excellence.
While most graduating dentists would normally either become employees or buy existing practices, Dr. Donna was determined to achieve her goal of independent practice with utmost speed. Just six months after she graduated, Sensitive Dentistry was born. She gave careful consideration to this name.
She is especially sensitive to those who have experienced disagreeable dental care elsewhere. She strives to educate patients on their conditionand listen to their concerns. She uses only the highest quality materials in her practice and lives by the adage, 'treat people like you want to be treated'.
For the last several years, Dr. Smolinski has continued with her desire to better the profession from withinby participating in Florida 's Dental Examinationboard, as best she can,she tries to 'humanize' the process for dentists seeking licensein this state, helping these candidates to understand the need for 'sensitive dentistry' wherever they plan to practice.
The latest addition to the Sensitive Dentistry concept is to implement modifications to the practicethat minimizes its impact on our surroundings. In her personal life, she has embraced solar energy, employed rainwater harvesting, recycled extensively, adoptedhybrid electric transportation, and even installed artificial turf so that no more harmful chemicals can run off into our waterways. She has now instituted eco-sensitive dentistry in her practice.
Beyond the practice, Dr. Donna enjoys life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her passions include cooking, gardening, and decorating. Her aesthetictouches, as well as her husband's photography, make a visit to her dental office a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Dr. Donna Smolinski has been my dentist for over ten years. I am thankful for her knowledge and caring attitude after every visit. I have what I call a very "difficult mouth." Dr. Smoliniski has always been able to adapt to how to treat everything from fillings, root canals, bridges, crowns, and implants for me. The entire staff are excellent in their positions, kind and efficient. I appreciate how diligent everyone as always been to make sure each space is spotless. I am always cold in medical spaces and a blanket is at the ready for my appointments. I never thought I'd have a dentist that I call by her first name and a dental space that is mostly run by solar power!

DO NOT TRUST these people! My partner went to them with a discount coupon we got in the mail as new homeowners, and they told him he had periodontal disease, which was even more serious of a diagnosis for him since he's scheduled to have major surgery in three weeks. We decided to get a second opinion, since he has NO signs of this serious disease. The second dentist he went to (a highly respected military dentist for veterans like him) told him his teeth are in good shape and he has NO sign of periodontal disease. So, beware, and make sure you get a second opinion - always.

Hygenist Jenny is Awesome. Super careful, professional, it was a thorough cleaning, she offered a few tips and it was a very pleasant dental experience. Havent met the dr yet thats next as im right now still in the chair (-: I wont put off going in for any issues except maybe $ and that ill refigure my budget. No down grading here. Positive interaction

While a snowbird in Florida last week I broke a tooth. Dr. Smolinski was able to see me the next day! The tooth could not be saved, so she made the time to extract it, do a bone graft, and also fill a cavity on the next tooth over. She was extremely professional, explained everything in advance very carefully including various options, how each would affect the outcome, and what pricing would be entailed. She was very gentle and careful to make sure I had no pain during the lengthy procedure I needed. I was very impressed with her friendliness and skill. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

if you are a skittish type person with the thoughts of going to the Dentist this is your place to be they all are absolutely phenomenal. Dr. Donna and her assistants are the greatest and the ambiance of the building is so relaxing you won't hardly know a thing is being done . I'm 71 years old and this is by far not my first dentist I've been to but NOW this is the only one for me I'm completely satisfied with my Surgery(Painless) and complete set of new Dentures . Dr. Donna Smolinski, DMD Took 4 hrs to do a root canal on a canine, extremely difficulties getting numb. Jumped from pain and was told "this isPrecision work within millimeters I need you to stay still" as if I had control. She snapped at her assistant for cleaning up tools she wanted. She also billed me in advance for work not completed and Refused to give back When I told her I was not going to go back for another dose of her sensitive dentistry care..( i had to call my bank for fraud to investigate).

I went to see Dr Donna after my primary care Dr., two ENT DRs., two dentist and my issue had gone unresolved for over four years. Within 2 hours she found the problem and we had a plan. When I woke up the next morning, for the first time in four years, part of my pain was gone! Over the coming weeks she put her plan into action, elevating both the physical and emotional trauma I was dealing with. I find her and her staff to be professional, Compassionate , beyond knowledgeable, and emotionally available to her patients. If you want a highly skilled professional dentist, Dr Donna is the one.
