Dr. Joon Kim is a graduate of University of Maryland School of Dentistry, the worlds first dental school. Dr. Kim was awarded with Maryland mayor scholarship for 4 years and earned a place in the Prosthodontics Honor Society en route to receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Prior to attending dental school, he was involved and has several publications in clinical psychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute, worlds premier institution dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with pediatric developmental disabilities. Dr. Kim has also worked at the world renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a researcher for 5 years on Alzheimers Disease.
Dr. Joon Kim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, which has been ranked #1 in the nation and continues to be the nations top spot for more than 50 years.
Dr. Kim is a very dedicated dentist devoted to clinical excellence, providing general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry treatment at the highest levels, including crowns, root canal therapy, veneers, implants, Invisalign, as well as treatment for TMJ snoring and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Kim has emphasis on the concept that oral health and total body health are intimately linked. Working to stay at the forefront of cutting edge techniques in dentistry, Dr. Kim is a lifelong student spending tireless hours to fine-tune his mastership.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading mystery novels, cooking, watching thriller movies, and taking barre fitness classes. Shes always had a love for horses ever since she was a toddler and plans on having her own horse one day. In her spare time, she envisions herself teaching horseback riding lessons and going on plenty of trail rides to relax. She also loves dogs and has boarded many of them in her own home. Spending time and giving plenty of love and cuddles to them brings her a lot of happiness.
Vicky was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. She is mixed between Thai and Chinese, and speaks Thai fluently.Raised in a Buddhist household, Vicky spent many weekends throughout her childhood attending a local Buddhist temple. At the temple she participated in many different events such as fundraising, festivals, and celebrations. As she grew older, she began volunteering to assist the temple in organizing and administering events such as summer school programs. Outside of religious activities, Vicky also enjoys playing sports. She was the captain of the girls tennis team in 2010 at John F. Kennedy high school. Although she no longer plays on a team, she still enjoys tennis recreationally along with other sports such as volleyball and badminton.
For fun, Vicky enjoys playing video games, doing arts and crafts, and tending to her houseplants. Some of her favorite games include: Animal Crossing, League of Legends, Final Fantasy 14, and Rainbow 6 Siege. While she usually paints at home, sometimes she goes out to attend wine and paint nights. Furthermore, she is a huge lover of animals. She rescued a grey tabby kitten named Opal in 2016 and has recently adopted a cock-a-chon puppy named Bagel Bite. Currently, Vicky is a student at the University of Maryland, College Park campus in the class of 2020. During her junior year she worked as a teaching assistant for a microbiology lab. After graduating and obtaining her bachelors in public health science, she aspires to become a dental hygienist.
Raj was born and raised in Ellicott City, MD. His family is from India and can speak Gujarati. Raj volunteers as much as he can as he used to teach religious classes to kids and went to India to teach underprivileged and impoverished children English and other important life skills. He is currently a student at the University of Maryland, College Park and is an aspiring dentist. He studies physiology and neurobiology and is minoring in general business and medical humanities.
Aside from school, Raj enjoys spending time with friends and family. He loves to dance, play sports/ video games, and travel. One of his biggest hobbies is dance. He is on the UMD bhangra team which performs the dance form of Bhangra which originated in Punjab, India. Raj recently got his dog Rocky and loves to go on hikes and walks with him. Raj is a huge football and basketball fan and loves to play both of them. He is a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Lakers.
During her free time, Shraddha enjoys travelling especially going on a road trip, watching series and playing tennis. Furthermore, she is very adventurous and likes going on a mountain climbing, hiking, bungee-jumping and so on.
