Dr. Joon Kim is a graduate of University of Maryland School of Dentistry, the worlds first dental school. Dr. Kim was awarded with Maryland mayor scholarship for 4 years and earned a place in the Prosthodontics Honor Society en route to receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Prior to attending dental school, he was involved and has several publications in clinical psychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute, worlds premier institution dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with pediatric developmental disabilities. Dr. Kim has also worked at the world renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a researcher for 5 years on Alzheimers Disease.
Dr. Joon Kim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, which has been ranked #1 in the nation and continues to be the nations top spot for more than 50 years.
Dr. Kim is a very dedicated dentist devoted to clinical excellence, providing general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry treatment at the highest levels, including crowns, root canal therapy, veneers, implants, Invisalign, as well as treatment for TMJ snoring and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Kim has emphasis on the concept that oral health and total body health are intimately linked. Working to stay at the forefront of cutting edge techniques in dentistry, Dr. Kim is a lifelong student spending tireless hours to fine-tune his mastership.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading mystery novels, cooking, watching thriller movies, and taking barre fitness classes. Shes always had a love for horses ever since she was a toddler and plans on having her own horse one day. In her spare time, she envisions herself teaching horseback riding lessons and going on plenty of trail rides to relax. She also loves dogs and has boarded many of them in her own home. Spending time and giving plenty of love and cuddles to them brings her a lot of happiness.
Vicky was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. She is mixed between Thai and Chinese, and speaks Thai fluently.Raised in a Buddhist household, Vicky spent many weekends throughout her childhood attending a local Buddhist temple. At the temple she participated in many different events such as fundraising, festivals, and celebrations. As she grew older, she began volunteering to assist the temple in organizing and administering events such as summer school programs. Outside of religious activities, Vicky also enjoys playing sports. She was the captain of the girls tennis team in 2010 at John F. Kennedy high school. Although she no longer plays on a team, she still enjoys tennis recreationally along with other sports such as volleyball and badminton.
For fun, Vicky enjoys playing video games, doing arts and crafts, and tending to her houseplants. Some of her favorite games include: Animal Crossing, League of Legends, Final Fantasy 14, and Rainbow 6 Siege. While she usually paints at home, sometimes she goes out to attend wine and paint nights. Furthermore, she is a huge lover of animals. She rescued a grey tabby kitten named Opal in 2016 and has recently adopted a cock-a-chon puppy named Bagel Bite. Currently, Vicky is a student at the University of Maryland, College Park campus in the class of 2020. During her junior year she worked as a teaching assistant for a microbiology lab. After graduating and obtaining her bachelors in public health science, she aspires to become a dental hygienist.
Raj was born and raised in Ellicott City, MD. His family is from India and can speak Gujarati. Raj volunteers as much as he can as he used to teach religious classes to kids and went to India to teach underprivileged and impoverished children English and other important life skills. He is currently a student at the University of Maryland, College Park and is an aspiring dentist. He studies physiology and neurobiology and is minoring in general business and medical humanities.
Aside from school, Raj enjoys spending time with friends and family. He loves to dance, play sports/ video games, and travel. One of his biggest hobbies is dance. He is on the UMD bhangra team which performs the dance form of Bhangra which originated in Punjab, India. Raj recently got his dog Rocky and loves to go on hikes and walks with him. Raj is a huge football and basketball fan and loves to play both of them. He is a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Lakers.
During her free time, Shraddha enjoys travelling especially going on a road trip, watching series and playing tennis. Furthermore, she is very adventurous and likes going on a mountain climbing, hiking, bungee-jumping and so on.

It has been a pleasure going to this dental practice. Dr. Kim and his staff are very friendly and silly. Dr. Kim is very thorough with the exam and cleaning. First exam was comprehensive, the insurance did not cover everything. Lots of x-rays and photos of teeth that needed attention were taken. But in my opinion it is totally worth it. There was also some nice Joe Hisaishi music playing in the background on one of the days I went. I think my search for a dentist is over.

Dr. Kim is very kind and courteous. I was very impressed with his outstanding professionalism (especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, he takes extra safety precautions!). He is thorough with my questions and answers with care. He also gives wonderful recommendations and advice on dental issues. I would recommend Dr. Kim to my friends and family.

My dad was out of town and he had tooth issue. Was able to contact dr. Kim at 7:30pm and was able to get a timely response. He fixed us into his busy schedule next day and came in early to take care of us. John Hopkins trained and highly experienced and very polite. I Highly recommend him and his practice

Dr. Kim and his staff are amazing! I had broken my tooth , and it needed his attention right away. He worked on my tooth that day . He explained my options ,and what he thought was my best choice. I am very grateful to him and his friendly staff. I have told several people how impressed I am with this dental practice .

I broke a crown on a Tuesday evening and sent Dr. Kim an email that night as my prior dentist had just retired. Dr.Kim called me that night and scheduled me for the next day. It turned out I also need 2 additional crowns. Dr.Kim worked with the lab to make sure the color match was perfect and rejected the initial set. He is a perfectionist which is a quality that I appreciate. Additionally, his COVID protocols are excellent. I would recommend him to anyone and he is my new family dentist! Thank you Dr. Kim!

Dr. Kim is excellent, his work is awesome. He gave me first class service, answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. His assistant Kayla is also excellent and attentive and quickly responds on behalf of the office.

I read great reviews about this practice and needed a new dentist. I was a bit behind on my 6 month cleaning, and was able to get an appointment within a week of contacting them. Kyla was extremely helpful and responsive. I had my appointment today and it was wonderful! Kyla and Dr Kim were both so friendly, welcoming, and everything was pristine. Both wore extra protective gear as well. I've seen several dentists, and cleanings can at times be uncomfortable, but I didn't feel a thing today! Will definitely be returning. I highly recommend!

About 2 or 3 weeks ago my son had a molar infection that was causing him a lot of pain. He wanted to see if he could tough it out but it got to be too painful and I decided to call a dentist. My wife and I are new to Montgomery County so I looked up for the nearest clinic on Google. Boy am I glad Dr. Kim popped up first. He is awesome, he got us in the same day! He is great with my son and you can tell he's very careful and detail oriented in his work. If you're in the area, don't think twice and call Dr. Kim's office today.

Fairly new store.. looks nice inside. Dr. Kim is nice. few months ago, I visited here. Was charged with extra after my treatment. Was told I would not have to pay anything, but later I had to speak with my dental insurance. Will not return for that reason.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Dr. Kim is an excellent dentist .He cares about your entire mouth the teeth, gums and your overall dental health. I was looking for a dentist and saw the high reviews that Dr. Kim had and decided to check the practice out and WOW, I am glad I did! The office staff is fantastic, the relationship between Dr. Kim and his staff is like a a family and the patients are merged into the same vibe.I have never had a dentist that I like to hang out with , but this office is the best. Last but not least, Dr Kim is well read in his knowledge of dentistry and it shows in his work.He is a perfectionist. Each and every step he does you as the patient are informed. If you are looking for a great dentist? I have found you one, Dr. Kim and his staff check them out! You will be happy that you did.

Dr. Kim was referred to me by a friend who was impressed with the quality of his work. He is professional, caring and patient. He worked with my elderly mom to repair her teeth and remove the cavities that have been built up over time and that were not addressed by her previous dentist. He meticulously worked with her teeth to make sure the cavities were all gone and repaired her teeth so she could have a nice smile again. Dr. Kim developed a caring relationship with my mom, who looked forward to seeing him upon her visits. I highly recommend Dr. Kim! You're in good hands!
