In some cases, I have gotten to know 4 generations of families. I take pride in their care and the trust we have built. Some of the best experiences have come from helping a patient who is dental phobic, who may not have been to see a dentist in quite some time, making them comfortable and rehabilitating their dental health. Its a great feeling knowing that you have transformed the way a patient feels about themselves. For me, patient satisfaction is paramount. Dr. Shoflick attended Fairleigh Dickinson College of Dental Medicine, graduating with his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree in 1987. He participated in a one-year General Practice Residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in Bronx, NY. During his residency he was able to receive advanced training with respect to trauma and emergent care. In 1990 he joined the practice of Rosenberg and Barnett, which transitioned to Barnett and Shoflick Family Dentistry and is now transitioning again to Select Dental with offices serving patients in both Rocky Hill and West Hartford, Connecticut.
With a commitment to offering state of the art treatment, Dr. Shoflick and the Select Dental team of practitioners are always eager to provide the very best dental experience for their patients. Dr. Shoflick is active in the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, Hartford Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry and Alpha Omega Dental Society. With a view to giving back, Dr. Shoflick has also participated in dental mission trips to Haiti and Guatemala.
A West Hartford resident for the past 25 years, Dr. Shoflick has weathered the trials and tribulations of being the only man in the house while raising 3 daughters with his wife Debbie, and of course his favorite furry friend Brando, the family dog!
As Dr. McCabe closes in on ten years of private practice experience, the trend has been that each year just truly keeps getting better and better. Dr. McCabe teamed up with Select Dental (previously known as Barnett and Shoflick) in 2015 and was instrumental in the transition and merger of Dr. Mandells long standing practice in Wethersfield.
Since settling down with Dr Shoflicks team, he is proud of how Select Dental has established a reputation as one of the leading comprehensive practices in the community. His daily passion stems from the privilege in being able to afflict positive change in patients lives and his core dedication is to treat every individual as if they were a member of his own family.
Dr. McCabe has long standing ties to the state of Connecticut as a native of South Windsor, and graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He feels it is a humbling experience to be able to treat family, friends, peers and colleagues on a daily basis. Dr. McCabe is affiliated with a surplus of local outreach and community programs (CT Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile) while also frequently travels outside of the country as a mentor and instructor on University sponsored dental mission trips to Honduras, Ecuador, and Guatemala. He is also submersed and committed to professional continuing education programs, and travels yearly to some of the most highly respected institutions such as the Spear Institute and the Dawson Academy.
Dr. McCabe resides in Middletown with his wife where they attempt to keep up with their growing family! He comes home to a sticky-fingered toddler and the routine of bedtime stories repeated for the fifteenth billionth time.

These individuals accused me of loitering while I was waiting for my elderly father to be done with a procedure. I can honestly say these people are beyond incompetent. I have been misbilled or double billed every single time I have been there. I would highly recommend avoiding this practice and any affiliates of this practice.

I WON'T recommend this facility as I found they are SIMPLY MONEY MAKING FACILITY. I visited this place first time for a normal teeth cleanup as our insurance covers the cleaning twice in a year. They purposely made the cleaning process in two sessions so they can get more money from the patients. I never faced this experience earlier. I was asked to pay $50 which I paid, plus they said they will send another bill later as well after deduction from Insurance. They didn't find any cavity and nothing concerning as Dr. saw later, so I'm wondering why they made this in two sessions???

Excellent dentistry and very caring personable staff. I have been a patient for many years and have seen all three dentists Drs. Barnett, Schoflick and McCabe. All are excellent and responsive when there is an emergency

I am vary pleases with the service provided by the office staff, Dr. McCabe and his assistant Nia. I primarily us email to update them on my concerns regarding my dental status. Nia and Dr. McCabe replied back vary quickly and answered all my questions. Dr. McCabe also called me to confirm that I had no additional question. While I was in the chair Dr. McCabe took the time discuss what was required to address my situation.
