At the dental office of Samuel E. Selcher, DMD, the philosophy is simple. We live by the Golden Rule: treat others as you would like to be treated. Its the core of everything we do here, states Dr. Selcher. Thirty plus years, and many patients later, the practice is still thriving on that foundation.
Dr. Selcher attributes the practices success to his staffs ability to create a warm, friendly environment and a patient first commitment. Many patients comment on the friendly atmosphere which helps alleviate patient anxiety. Additionally, I have been blessed with great employees who have been with me for a long time. Both of my assistants have been with the practice for over 28 years. Its a pleasure to work with a dental team who work together so well and keep the patients interest first and foremost. This includes working gently to keep patients comfortable and keeping current on the latest techniques and materials by attending continuing education to provide the best services possible for each patient.
Dr. Selcher and his staff are committed to meeting and exceeding the expectations of every patient, every time. We want them to know they are our top priority. From the first contact we have with a patient to the last thank you when they leave our office; we want them to know we care for them.
Dr. Selcher graduated from Middletown Area High school where he participated in wrestling, track and National Honor Society and was fortunate enough to be the PIAA class B State Champion in the discus. He was also an Eagle Boy Scout. He graduated Cum Laude from Millersville State College before attending the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine where he was inducted into OKU, the National Dental Honor Society. After serving two years in the US Navy he set up his practice in 1977.
Dr. Selcher has been active in organized dentistry since he opened his practice and has served in many offices including President of the Harrisburg Area Dental Society and the Fifth District Dental Society. He has served the Pennsylvania Dental Association in numerous ways, including as Trustee, Treasurer, and Vice-President. He also served at the American Dental Association on the Commission on the Young Professional, Council on Dental Practice, ADPAC Board, and as a delegate for many years. He is a Fellow in: The Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr. Selcher has been active in his community. Some of his involvement includes President of the Middletown School Board, Chairman of the Joint Operating Committee of Dauphin County Vo-Tech, President of the Industrial Development Authority of Central Pennsylvania, and chairman of the Board of his church and a missions board.
