Dr. Acevedo began private practice in Colorado in 1985. As he built a brand new practice originally located in Thornton, he served as a staff dentist for Salude Del Valle Dental Clinics from 1983 to 1987, and was an associate dentist for a large downtown Denver dental office.
Dr. Acevedo graduated from the University of Iowa with Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1982. After dental school, he completed a general dentistry hospital residency program in 1983. This valuable time was spent gaining experience in more complex dental treatment plans, oral surgery, and medically compromised patients.
After practicing dentistry for over 30 years, he still enjoys the people part of dentistry, and he finds helping make patients comfortable rewarding. He keeps his abilities and skills updated with continuing education classes including dental implant placement, lasers in dentistry, Botox and dermal fillers.
Dr. Choi moved to Colorado and joined the Sedona Dental team in 2003. He grew up in North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He graduated from the Indiana School of Dentistry in 2002. After dental school, Dr. Choi completed his practice residency in Madison, WI where he became proficient in all aspects of general dentistry. Dr. Choi is committed to continuing education and has completed extensive courses on implant placement and restoration.
Dr. Choi is a caring and practical dentist. He enjoys building long term relationships with his patients and truly cares for their well being. In his free time, Dr. Choi enjoys many of Colorado's outdoor activities especially skiing, golfing, and fishing. He ran his first marathon last year and hopes to do more in the future.

Been a client since 2010. Dr. Park has been providing great care and offer preventative advice. Susi the hygienist also has been providing wonderful care of my dental health.

Today my dad seen Dr. Park and he was amazing. My dad is 76 so he is stubborn and wants things a certain way. Dr. Park was so nice and did a great job making my dad happy with his treatment. We went for just a consultation and Dr. Park and his assistant Alicia fixed his problem all in one visit! Super efficient! We recommend him 10 out of 10! The whole office is friendly and the place is nicely decorated with comfy chairs in the waiting area. The whole place...everything is clean. Seriously the best dentist office I have been to.

I had my first visit here recently and got an exam and cleaning done with Danielle, going to the dentist is always so nerve wrecking for me but she was awesome! I felt very comfortable from start to finish. She took her time with me was very thorough, gentle and explained everything in detail I will definitely be coming here regularly I highly recommend this place!

I highly recommend Sedona Dental. I've been coming here for years. Dr. Acevedo is my dentist He is never rushed and takes time to explain before hand what the plan is and then as he works on the tooth, explains what's going on, what he sees, what he needs to do etc. I really appreciate that! Suzie is my hygienist, she does a great job in keeping my teeth and gums clean and healthy - very gentle and thorough. They are the best!

I am so glad I found this office! I have been looking for a female dentist for a while and Dr. Chiovitti was amazing. She took the time to explain the treatment I needed and showed me on the x-rays as well (appreciated this as I have had offices tell me I needed work done without showing me). The front desk staff is also very knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommend this office!

After 22 years of being a patient I had a billing issue. I had to jump through hoops to try and get to dr, acevedo. I had asked for an email so that I could voice my issue to him directly. One of his staff reached out to me and was extremely rude. I was directed to the company email. I voiced my concern and this was the response I received from acevedo after 22 years of being a patient. Mr. Medina, The response was written by me, Dr. Acevedo. I had the office manager's name on the email as she provided administrative information. As to the remaining statements, I believe I addressed them in my first response. It appears that my office is not serving your needs to your satisfaction, so I feel it is best that you transfer to another dental office. My office will be available to see you for any emergency dental treatment for a period of thirty days from today to allow you time to find another office. I have attached an authorization to release records form. Please complete and sign this form and return to my office when you have chosen another office, and we will transfer your dental records to that office. I am sorry you have not been satisfied with our office procedures and policies. Hopefully you can find an office that will align better with your desires. Sincerely, Alex P. Acevedo, DDS

My husband and I have been going here since 2002 - when they used to be in the Mission Trace shopping center. We've always found their staff professional, and building clean and comfortable. Back in Mission Trace, I did have a dentist that was new to them. He was kind of arrogant, and I didn't like the advice he gave me on an old molar filling. X-rays revealed the old filling was splitting. But instead of recommending a proactive re-fill or root canal, he said I could wait. I wasn't sure that was a great idea...and when it broke on something that wasn't even hard, I knew I should have insisted on proactive treatment. I asked to be switched to a different dentist. I now have Dr. Choi and am happy with his manner and advice When the molar broke, I had to get an implant. Dr. Acevedo performed that procedure. He is AWESOME. Love his manner. He explains exactly what he's going to do and why. I remember the last appointment was particularly late in the day, but he took his time to do a quality job so the new tooth fit well. While I like some hygienists more than others personality and "mouth feel" wise, I've learned it's better to get whomever they schedule me for on that day. For a while I kept requesting the same hygienist because she worked very gently, but the next different hygienist I got - she seemed much more thorough (e.g. more scraping!) - and gave me more in-depth feedback on the state of my mouth. It wasn't positive feedback, but I appreciated the truth. They are usually able to stay pretty close on schedule. The front desk is always friendly and efficient. With my insurance, I hardly ever have to pay anything or deal with any paperwork. For a while we had different insurance and couldn't use Sedona, and my husband and I were miserable with the other places we tried. Paperwork nightmares exacerbated by a clueless front desk, hygienists who had conversations with each other over your head, impersonal, etc. Or another new place that was all high tech - but the front desk kept trying to charge me for things they weren't supposed to. When we went back to my husband's insurance, we were SO glad we could go back to Sedona. I've had Dr. Jack Choi as my dentist now for several years. He's been voted Top Dentist in 5280 Magazine (I think more than once?) While his manner is more "crisp", I trust his work. e.g. They now make the crowns and implants there on site. He's very proud of his work on implants, wanting to make sure they fit just right and feel natural. All of the dentists I've been seen by (Acevedo, Park and Choi) are great about talking through what they're going to do, what they're doing as they do it, and making sure you're pain free. Some of the hygienists have been there for years. It's nice to not get a stranger every 6 months. I highly recommend them. Try different dentists until you get one you like, and I recommend not scheduling with the same hygienist all the time so you get different perspectives and feedback on your oral health.

We have been patients at Sedona Dental, with Dr. Choi as our dentist for over a decade. Each visit I am impressed with the staff and Dr. Choi's skilled care. I recently lost a crown and the staff were super empathetic and able to fit me in same-day. Dr. Choi's treatment was skilled, efficient, and caring during the slightly stressful experience (losing a tooth was a bit traumatic!). I highly recommend Sedona Dental and especially Dr. Choi and his team!

I had the honor of doing my externship with this amazing office and I just want to say thank you to everyone in the office for being so helpful and kind! Not only to me, but to every patient that walks through the door. I want to thank Dr.Park and Alicia for being great teachers and pushing me to succeed! And lastly I want to encourage people to schedule your appointments and externships with Sedona! I've never felt so welcomed and like family with a Dental Office like I did this one! They will always make sure that you are taken care of and walk out with a beautiful smile on your face!(:

Dr. Choi is incredible. I would trust this man with my life. I came in thinking I needed a root canal and Dr. Choi took care of me on the same day and was very friendly. Couldn't ask for a better experience especially during a time like this. Incredible!!!!

Awesome staff. Front desk is helpful and nice and both doctors and assistants are fantastic. I've had several pleasant visits here and I rarely ever say that about dentists. Dr. Choi & Danielle are great.
