Extractions:When removing 3rd molars with proximity to Inferior Alveolar Nerve a 3D view is very helpful for the extractionwhen there is proximity of teeth to the Inferior Alveolar Nerve. This gives surgeon information that dictates the approach needed for tooth removal.
Orthodontics: With views of the wrist and cervical vertebrae Dr. Sanchez can determine if a patient has uncompleted growth or has finished growing. Impacted teeth are located and an approach to expose them for alignment can be determined with a CT scan. Panorex views are also used to check root alignment every six months. Necessary changes can be done to correct root alignment.
Oral Surgery:Thelocation of impacted teeth needing removal are easily determined with a CT scan. With views of cervical vertebra, Dr. Sanchez can determine if patient has uncompleted growth or has finished growing. Uncompleted growth can help us control the arch to get the best match better in the finish. It can determine if a patient has stopped growing. Patients that are still growing cannot have dental implants placed until all growth has stopped.CTs also alerts us of pathologythat can greatly affect patient outcomes if surgery is attempted.
Dental Implants: Spacing and positioning of implants benefit from a 3D CT scan views. Proximity to sinus and nasal are also well viewed. Bone height for placement of implants can only be seen with the third dimension a CT scan provides.
Endodontics (Root Canals): A 3D CT view will give us an image of the root alignment of all teeth. Location and additional canals can be discovered with a CT scan. Endodontic care needing retreatment is usually due to additional canals that were not located when root canal was initially done.
