My passion in orthodontics has driven me to receiving many years of education and pursing professional development. Being born and raised in Taiwan, I attended Taipei Medical University, where I earned my DDS and Masters degree of Orthodontics in 1999 and 2003. I received my PhD degree from Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas in 2008. Shortly before graduation, I was appointed as Assistant Professor of Orthodontics in the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Meanwhile, I completed my second Masters degree in Dentistry and Orthodontic certificate from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Later in 2015, I was promoted to tenured Associated Professor and became a certified orthodontist by American Board of Orthodontists.
I love practicing, researching, and teaching orthodontics. There are more 40 scientific papers I published in American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, European Journal of Orthodontics, Angle orthodontists, and Bone. I am also a coauthor of Basic and Applied Bone Biology. In 2010, I was honored the Beni Solow Award because my article was selected the best paper of European Journal of Orthodontics. After serving as Director of Orthodontic Fellowship Program for 3 years, my enthusiasm of teaching was well recognized and honored the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2013.

I strongly recommend Dr Sean Liu Orthodontics. Two of my kids got clear liners from this place (Jay & Trevi).The whole staff is very professional and they're always very flexible with the appointments; which is needed because my kids go to school. Very knowledgeable and experienced. Excellent experience. Thank you Dr Liu.

Dr. Liu is an outstanding orthodontist. He is well spoken of by other dental professionals, and was recommended to us. We are so thankful for his expertise. He skillfully planned, communicated and executed my child's braces, and we are thrilled with the results. Her teeth are beautiful and healthy.

My family is grateful to the professionals in this clinic. Doctor Liu did an awesome job with my young son's teeth who had a serious issue. Now he has a good smile and proper bite. We would recommend this place to our friends.

Dr. Sean Liu and his team are amazing people to deal with, with my daughter's braces needs. They're very friendly, very knowledgeable with dental needs, especially very honest with what needs to be done when it comes to making decision and what not with Rai's braces. Dr. Liu himself doesn't mind at all whenever we call no matter what time of the day nor even on weekends/holidays he never fails to help giving advice with whatever issue we have. He's truly an amazing well worth Orthodontist to take all my kids to for any orthodontic needs. Thank you Dr. Liu and team, you all Rock! My family and I highly recommend Sean Liu's orthodontics...

Had a truly disappointing experience yesterday. I was a patient of Dr. Wallen (former owner of this office). The quality and running of the office does not appear to be up to the same standards Dr. Wallen had. I have a permanent retainer which came unglued from one tooth, so I made an appointment to have it re-attached. During the appointment, Dr. Liu never came over to look at the situation. One of the assistants did the re-gluing procedure. There was an almost shocking amount of glue and it felt kind of bulky, but she assured me it would wear down over time. First time flossing my teeth (after lunch same day), the retainer became unglued from the tooth again and I was left with big hunk of glue poking my tongue. I was able to get back in same day to have it fixed, which was not a comfortable experience. The assistant had to file/drill away the massive amount of glue down, which was excruciating. The glue dust was going all over my mouth and it was quite uncomfortable. I asked what would prevent it from detaching again and the assistant responded along the lines of "the other staff did a really good job with this, I'm not sure why it detached". The retainer ended up being reattached, but the glue is rough and chalky. It's unbearable without being covered with wax. I will be going to another orthodontist to have this rectified. I'm super disappointed in Sean Liu Orthodontics.

They are always so nice! I feel very comfortable and at home there. They always greet me with a smile, and speaking of smile, mine is very nice now. After two years of braces, starting when I was 14 and now I am 16 I couldn't imagine a better result! 5/5 stars.

I finished my treatment and am ecstatic about the results! My treatment plan was easy and painless. Everyone in Dr. Liu's office is fantastic and friendly, and my appointments were always on time and quick. My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago! I've already recommended Dr. Liu to friends and family and will continue to do so.
