I feel so lucky to be able to interact with such diverse patients and be an integral part of changing someones perception of themselves. These changes help shape a person into a more confident individual, leading them to be able to tackle anything in their way without hesitation.
Having the ability to boost someones self-esteem by changing the position of their teeth, and creating a beautiful smile that leads to an increase in confidence, is why I chose this field in dentistry. I couldnt have chosen a better career! I get to interact with a wide range of ages, which makes going to work every day dynamic. Seeing how happy and appreciative our patients are after seeing their new smile is the most rewarding part of orthodontics.
Orthodontics is continually evolving, and I want to be able to give my patients the latest and greatest when it comes to their smile investment. I attend continuing education courses on a regular basis at both a local and national level.
The most recent courses I attended involved hands-on training in the use of diode lasers, temporary anchorage devices, and fixed appliances. Learning about the latest advancements in orthodontics has led to improved comfort during treatment and less time in braces in general.
Originally from Florence, SC, I currently reside in Myrtle Beach with my wife Laurel, our daughter Kelsey and son Everett. My free time is spent fishing, traveling, attending sporting events, and being an active member of my community.
Giving back to the community is always so rewarding. In dental school, I was a part of a non-profit dental clinic that provided free dental procedures for the underprivileged. As an orthodontist, I have been fortunate to participate in various organizations that provide free orthodontic services to children in need.
Coming to us from Conway, Shelly has spent the last two years bringing her own brand of compassionate care to our patients. She really shines when it comes to making others feel understood, and loves getting to know the families we serve. While Shelly may represent the softer side of Seabreeze, she is surprisingly strong, and is on schedule to meet her goal of deadlifting 250 lbs in the next year! Outside of work and the gym, Shelly likes to put together challenging puzzles and spend as much time as possible soaking up the sun on the beach.
Kenya is the newest member of the Seabreeze family, and were so excited about adding her to our team! Born in Mexico and raised in Myrtle Beach, Kenya is bilingual, which allows us to communicate more fully with our ESL patients, something that is important to all of us. Aside from her language skills, Kenya keeps things cool with her ability to go with the flow in all situations. Although her ultimate goal is to go back to school, she currently enjoys using her spare time to swim, dance, and have fun with friends and family. She joins Rains in being a passionate advocate for equality!

Dr. Juan and his employees were so nice and very efficient with the work they did on my teeth. I was always comfortable and they were very time efficient which was great. They also are pretty updated with new equipment that makes both the orthodontist and the patient comfortable and in and out. I highly recommend anyone to get their braces or any orthodontic work with this office. You'll have the best experience.

Doctor Juan did my braces approximately 7 years ago. I constantly get compliments on my smile and told "you have a great dentist" and I always correct people and say "I have a great orthodontist". His technological advances that he has invested in really puts him in a class above other orthodontist. Older orthodontist are still working with archaic, old school ways that cause treatment to last much longer than necessary. What Dr. Juan does for people is more than just shifting teeth, he approaches each mouth like a work of art. Dr. Juan is friendly, efficient, and makes personal connections with every patient. He is HIGHLY recommended and all his reviews shows the love the community has for him.

I absolutely love the staff at Seabreeze. I have been coming here for over a year and I honestly look forward to every appointment. Shelley is absolutely amazing, and Dr. Juan is the coolest!! They really helped us out! We were visiting Myrtle Beach and realized we hadn't brought the tightening device for our 14 year old son's expander. Even though we weren't patients at Seabreeze Orthodontics they graciously gave us two devices plus answered our questions about the altered timing of the tightening cycle. Very professional! Very kind!

Top of the line for their service!! We live in Pittsburgh and we are at the Myrtle Beach for vacation. I called for an emergency care and they took care of it right away to come in. It was an easy fix. Everyone is very friendly and professional. On the top of that, there was NO charges. Instead, they gave us a silly pen and make sure that we go home with some wax, just in case. I highly recommended this place for locals and tourists. It's such a blessing to find a place that actually cares. LOVE it!!

Dr. Juan and his girls are really really sweet! Very professional and top tier. I had my top row of braces on for two months and i already see a major/huge difference. So far the experience has been absolutely amazing. I highly recommend Seabreeze for any treatment.

The young ladies at the front desk were very accommodating as soon as my son and I walked through the doors. The entire staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Juan is very patient and through with the whole process. I wouldn't trust my son"s othodontic-needs to anyone else.. This team is A+

By far the best orthodontist here in Myrtle Beach. All their staff members are very kind and friendly. Once you walk in the door everyone is so welcoming. I recently relocated to NJ but I love Dr. Juan and all the amazing co-workers, even after the move they have been working with my schedule.
