It was an unexpected surprise when Dr. Jenkins received an invitation to visit Greenville for the first time in May of 2012. The call came just as I was finishing my residency at the University of Kentucky in Periodontics, and I couldnt have been more thrilled. It was three years ago when Dr. Jenkins moved from her Bluegrass home of Lexington, Kentucky to the Upstate and it was love at first site. Her daughter, Lucie, has also grown incredibly fond of the beauty and dynamic downtown of Greenville. Lucie, a high schooler, is an avid photographer and loves writing music and enjoying the local art scene. Dr. Jenkins enjoys cooking, working out, antiquing, and discovering new restaurants in Greenville.
Dr. Jenkins practiced as a nurse for 15 years prior to dental school, and knew she wanted and needed more from her professional career. At 35, she embarked on the biggest adventure of her life and pursued her dental degree at the University of Kentucky. After specializing in periodontics, she began searching for the right community to work and live in. Greenville was the perfect fit and in 2012, she began her professional career here. She feels her previous healthcare experience gives her an advantage in being able to provide highly compassionate, personalized care to all her patients.
Periodontics is a specialty of dentistry dealing with the soft tissue and bone surrounding teeth and implants. The primary focus is helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. It requires an additional three years of training in order to obtain the specialty license. Dr. Jenkins is a board-certified periodontist, which requires additional training for specialized credentialing. She is a proud and active member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontics, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Jenkins is also an active member of the Greenville County Dental Society and the Piedmont Dental Society.
Dr. Christopher Haggard is a native of North Augusta, South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and then attended the Medical College of Georgia (now Augusta University) where he graduated dental school and later earned his certificate in Periodontics.
Dr. Haggard is licensed to practice dentistry in both Georgia and South Carolina. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, he has extensive training in dental implants, sedation dentistry, esthetic/cosmetic dentistry, gum grafting, bone grafting, and treatment of periodontal disease. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Southern Academy of Periodontology, and the South Carolina Dental Association.
Dr. Haggard and his wife, Jill, are excited to move to the Upstate with their daughter Lucy. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing golf, watching soccer, and cheering for the Gamecocks.

Dr. Jenkins is the most compassionate awesome periodontist ever!!! I have been scared of dentist all my life, had a bad experience when I was a little girl. I am having an implant..my first phase bone graph was a big success. Absolutely "No Pain" & "No Bruising." I highly recommend Dr. Jenkins for any implant needs.

This is the closest in-network periodontist and was recommended by my dental carrier (Aetna). The office is very visually appealing, from the outside in. The layout, the furniture, even the staff was beautiful! But seriously, each staff member I engaged with was kind and professional. They were very vocal throughout the process (I was in for a consultation) and the billing structure was very transparent and well-explained.

Absolutely felt comfortable with this dental practice. The office staff was friendly, yet professional. The hygenist was friendly and courteous but also highly skilled. Reesie did an amazing job with cleaning my teeth and Dr. Jenkins was great at giving me expert advice about how to go forward with some of my dental issues. I love this practice and would highly recommend it for anyone.

Dr. Jenkins is VERY knowledgable, thorough, thoughtful, and she's quite charismatic. The level of ensuring she fully understands your dental AND any other medical issues (important!), was simply unprecedented in my experience. Coming procedures were fully, clearly described. I look forward to my new implant treatments, something I never thought could happen.

I was a little nervous heading into the appointment because I didn't know what news I was going to get. The nerves died down a little when I first walked in and saw how calm the environment was. The waiting room was awesome and the receptionists were great. Sherry was super welcoming, and after being with her and Dr. Haggard for just a few minutes my nerves were gone. They explained everything in detail and were meticulous with the examination. They were both also very personable, and by the time I left I felt like I had known them for years. I'll report back (good or bad) after the surgery, but because of the whole team I know exactly what's coming and I'm prepared for it. You won't find a more professional (but comfortable) environment and staff. Thank you!! Update after first procedure: I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Surgery was a breeze and post-op instructions were clear and concise. Dr. Haggard genuinely cared about me and my results. Just got the stitches out and everyone was just as nice as my previous visits. I wish I remembered everyone's names but Kayla and Destinie were awesome. I also love that this office has a hygiene team as I know some other perio offices don't.
