Dr. Scruggs has been in practicing dentistry in Shreveport for 22 years. He attended LSUS for his undergraduate degree in Biology, and he received his DDS from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Dr. Scruggs trained in implant surgery at the HandsOnTraining Institute in New Jersey, and he has practiced the diagnosis, treatment planning, and placement of implants for several years.
As per his motto, Gentle care for all ages, Dr. Scruggs is dedicated to making sure our dental patients are comfortable in the chair. Dr. Scruggs prides himself on making long lasting, beautiful smiles. Whether a large or small case, Dr. Scruggs approaches every patient with the same passion and enthusiasm. He is a dentist that takes his time with every patient to ensure that he or she is satisfied.
Dr. Rae Scruggs is a third-generation dentist who grew up watching her dad and grandfather serve the community in life-change ways. Growing up she watched her dad serve on mission trips around the world and give out free dentistry. He shared his awe-inspiring stories of peoples whos quality of life was completely changed because of the work he helped with. This initially sparked Dr. Scruggs interest in Dentistry along with her love of working with her hands and being creative.
Dr. Scruggs attended LSU for her undergraduate degree in Biology and received her DDS from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Her favorite part of dentistry is seeing a patient look in the mirror and seeing their new smile for the first time. She loves taking a patient that is fearful and unsure about the future of their mouth and giving them the knowledge and confidence to take control of their life again.
She is excited about meeting patients, serving in the community by volunteering and working with her dad. She is passionate about volunteering to do free screenings for homeless teenagers and the large, impoverished area in Shreveport.
In her free time, Dr. Scruggs enjoys spending time with her family. She has two pets Zara and Nora and is expecting her first child, a little girl, and who knows she might be the fourth dentist in the family!

First time at this dentist and the young ladies made me feel really comfortable. The young lady clean my teeth was super nice. Dr Scrugg was also nice and polite he was very professional. I will recommend this dentist to anyone that's in need of a dentist to care for your teeth. The place is a clean environment that's one of the things I look for at a place. Thank you!

Today I visited Dr. Scruggs office for my regular check up. The new office is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and the hygienist did a great job X-ray and cleaning my teeth. Giving me tips to maintain my gum health. I enjoy using their office. Made me a great night guard too!

They r the best of the best. I went in there hurting so bad and they made me feel so cared for and like I was part of their family. The staff was so kind and amazing. The staff was very friendly and professional. I had a thorough exam and came with medical records but the dentist saw discrepancies and saved over 1g in unnecessary dental work. I'm glad I came across their practice.

Dr. Scruggs and Staff are highly professional, friendly and extremely organized. I felt such a positive atmosphere and was offered a blanket, neck pillow and sunglasses to use while I had a root canal. I was so relaxed and comfortable through the whole procedure that I nodded off twice and never felt any pain! They truly CARE about their patients!

I was brushing my teeth this morning and my crown popped off. I panicked! Called one dentist, couldn't get an appointment for 2 weeks. I called Dr Scruggs clinic and got in in 3 hours. They reset my crown perfectly and I now have a new dentist!

Ten 's As always everyone in the office is great and Dr.Scruggs is awesome!!! Dr.Scruggs was very gentle and made me feel at ease. He was very informative to help me make the best decision.
