An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

The ladies up front were really sweet and talkative. Dentist was fast and straight forward with was going to happen. I never felt like anyone didn't know what they were doing. I'll be back in six months.

I'm kind of a scared of dentists and was convinced all my teeth were going to fall out since I hadn't been to the dentist in ages. The staff here was so patient and nice to me and explained everything in detail step by step. I left with a shiny clean smile and actually can't wait to come back in 6 months. From walking in to the X-ray tech to the dentist and the hygienist everyone was phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and bring your mouth here.

I'm not one to normally leave reviews, but I just had an appointment at Scottsdale Trails, and I can't recommend them enough. Dr. Skaalen was extremely friendly and gentle, the hygienist Jessica was thorough and friendly, and the assistant manager Katie was there to help me with everything else. I have dental phobia, and this is the place to go for your dental needs. Extremely understanding, professional, I just can't say enough.

I am a new patient and need a fair amount of work done. Dr. Skaalen was the absolute best provider I could have hoped for. Great, upbeat personality, very knowledgeable and professional, and makes you feel comfortable as well as informed. Also, a shout out to the entire staff at Scottsdale Trails as well. They are all fun, efficient, welcoming, and professional, from reception, to the DA's and hygienist, they're all high quality people. I've never been happier to visit the dentist.

I had an oral abscess this morning when I got up and went to my insurance website and found Scottsdale Trails. I had an appointment this afternoon and the biggest part completed before I left. The dentist and his assistant stayed almost two hours after their normal closing to take care of me. I'm amazed and impressed with everyone I came into contact with and will definitely use this practice for all my dental needs.

Im giving this review for my mom who hates going to the dentist, usually has nitrous oxide. The receptionist was so kind, Brenda the doctors assistant was crazy amazing at easing my moms nerves. Dr skaalen did not have to give her any thing except shots to do 2 crowns. My mom can now confidently smile! She will come back to do more needed work. Seriously do not hesitate coming here. Quality work, beautifully kind staff and efficient work. Never heard of same day crowns.
