Dr. Ryan Engelberg first came to Arizona in 1988 as a student at Northern Arizona University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Biology. After graduating in 1992, Dr. Engelberg moved to Milwaukee, WI to pursue a career in dentistry at Marquette University. He received his DDS degree in 1996. While working as a general dentist in a private practice, Dr. Engelberg completed a residency in advanced general dentistry. During that time, he treated patients in many underserved areas and supervised dental students at Marquette University School of Dentistry. After five years in Milwaukee, Dr. Engelberg moved to Los Angeles, CA where he specialized in endodontics, earning his certificate at the University of Southern California. At USC, he was a instructor for dental students and taught in the endo clinic for two years.
Dr. Engelberg joined the faculty at A. T. Still University Arizona School of Dental & Oral Health in 2005 where he is currently an instructor in the endodontic clinic. He also participates in Az MOM ( Arizona Mission of Mercy) by providing dental care to the underserved. In addition to teaching at ASDOH and working in private practice, Dr. Engelberg is a consultant for the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners.
Dr. Engelberg is a member of several dental organizations including the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, Arizona Endodontic Association, Arizona Dental Association, and Central Arizona Dental Society.

Ryan Engelberg earns his 1 star rating for charging me $400 for an unsuccessful incomplete root canal. Everyone of my friends, family members and colleagues has been shocked and disgusted to find out this man would charge $400 for a one hour attempted failed root canal. My general dentist had previously already done 95% of the root canal work and charged me $0.00 because he couldn't finish it, great guy! I understand root canals are not always a successful procedure and thats fine because if you can't do a successful job as a specialist you can't do it, not mad at that, but to charge someone $400 without insurance on the spot after you knowingly did not successfully reach the bottom of the root reveals this place seems to care more about money than their patients. I will warn as many people as possible for years to come, AVOID this place. I hope to save lots of patients from having to go to Scottsdale Endodontics PC and wasting their time and money for NOTHING! I went to this Endodontist experiencing extreme pain and I left in the same condition. He said he was writing me a prescription but I guess he forgot to do it because I was never given one. I have continued to live with this pain and now I need to get the tooth pulled.

Just had my follow up root canal, and even tho they are pretty horrible, Ryan Engelberg and staff make it as pleasant as possible!! Highly recommend them!

I have had two root canals done and both were good experiences. Everyone in the office is friendly and professional. They have been able to see me quickly. Dr. Engelberg listens and does careful testing. He explains everything and answers all of your questions.

I was one of the unfortunate people that needed an emergency Root Canal. I can't begin to express my gratitude to Dr. Ryan Engelberg, his assistant and Gracie. They were wonderful about accommodating me with an appointment the same day I called to get me out of pain. My experience with this office from the phone call all the way to treatment was superb! If you are in need of such Dental treatment, I would highly recommend going here. "You won't be disappointed" Thanks again for taking such great care of me! Sherri Calvert

I've been here twice this year. Dr. Engelberg is very skilled, and has done great work on my teeth. They've gotten me in quickly when I needed it, and their prices are very reasonable for often very expensive procedures. If your insurance is maxed out they'll cut you a small break, and I'm almost positive you can use Care Credit if need be (Dr. Engelberg is listed on their site so I assume so).
