Dr. Nieman is amazing-he has been my daughter's dentist for her entire life and I can't imagine taking her anywhere else. I have recommended many friends to him and they all think he is a great dentist also. He clearly loves and cares about his patients and their families and his dental skills are top notch!

Twenty years ago, Mr Nieman drilled a hole between my sons top, front two teeth and tried to place a filling. I couldn't believe he did that. Not even a year later, my two year old son's tooth became abscessesd and I had to race him to children's hospital to see a real dental professional. The doctor on duty was shocked to hear that Mr. Nieman filled a hole in between his front teeth. Clearly this man got his degree from Cracker Jack University. He didn't deserve the one star I gave.

Dr. Scott & Shelly are the best! My girls absolutely love coming there, Shelly made their first few visits fun and not scary and now they get so excited when I say we're going to the dentist! Dr. Scott is so good with the little ones, I would 10/10 recommend this office!

I hold myself responsible for sharing my experience at this office. I took my 6 yr old son who has ASD to Dr Nieman's office today and we had the worst experience ever. I would never recommend this practice to anyone, especially to families that have children with developmental disabilities. On my way out, I shared my concerns and my experience with Dr. Nieman and he took no responsibility for what happened at his practice, nor was he emphatic. He sort of mentioned that he had not idea of how the check in or financial process is done and could not speak to that. He displayed the lowest emotional intelligence I have ever seen in a medical professional. When I asked him about his experience with kids on the spectrum, he replied that he had a plethora of experience and even indicated that the kiddos in the two rooms next to ours were in fact on the spectrum - a direct HIPPA violation as he was sharing with me these patients' PMI. Here are the details of my experience. We arrived at the office and checked in per the "covid" policy, which is to send a text message upon your arrival and wait to be called in. I sat in my car with my son for approximately 23 minutes before I received a call from the office asking if we were going to make the appointment. I responded that I had been waiting in the parking lot and had already "checked in" per the instructions given. I was then told that they were having some challenges with the system and had not seen my message. By this time my son was totally frustrated from just sitting in the car and not being able to go in. We had been through many "social stories" about going to the dentist prior to getting there. He was prepared to go in but was completed disappointed that we were waiting for so long and by the time we walked into the office he was having a total meltdown. This behavior is not uncommon for kiddos on the spectrum. I can't recall receiving as much as an apology from the front office staff. I then handed over my son's new patient paperwork and shared my concerns about giving my SSN to verify my insurance, which I was told was fine. The office had already verified the primary insurance (my husband's) when I called to make the appointment. Mine was not verified because I did not have the information during that time, but had provided sufficient information on the forms that I turned in. About 2 mins after my son and I were taken back to the treatment room, the admin -whom I assume was verifying the insurance - came back and very rudely interjected- asking for both mine and my husband's SSN while we were going through the initial screening process. I again shared my concerns about sharing or writing down our socials and asked if she could use other means of verifying. She again very rudely responded by saying that I could pay out of pocket if I did not want to provide the information. I was flabbergasted that all this was happening back in the treatment room. At this point, my son was still struggling to comply with all that was being asked of him and as his mother I was even more disappointed and frustrated with the service we were receiving. Finally,I asked the hygienist to speak with someone in charge. The hygienist was the one saving grace. We would have left without seeing the dentist if she were not able to work with my son. She was great with him and succeeded to finally win his trust and get him to cooperate. The dentist Dr Emily was also good with my son. He saw her for the last 5 mins of the visit. Because of these 2 ladies, I gave this practice a one star rating. Dr Nieman did issue me a text message apology, but still never took responsibility. He mentioned glitches with the technology they were using- why would he not get this rectified if it is a known problem? Why not put a workaround in place? As mentioned I can never recommend this practice to anyone. As a mother of a child with ASD, this was our worst experience and I hope we never have to go through something like this again.

Misrepresented the dental insurance policy they accepted. We clearly asked if the covered delta dental policies. They said yes. They billed as delta dental premier. Costing our family $171 out of pocket. We called to inquire on the charges and the administrator said "they" shouldn't have said the practice accepts that insurance. The administrator was clearly the "they" we spoke with when confirming coverage. Shady and terrible business practice.

Incredibly frustrated by my experience here - the office does not use electronic billing and did nothing to advise that a $100 balance was to be reported to collections. I even was in their office for a subsequent appointment and never told about the past due balance. I gladly paid once I became aware, but now I am having to work to remove from my records. Making matters worse, I have now been informed that I am no longer welcome to bring my son there - all because of $100 which they acknowledge I have paid in full. I suppose I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

We stopped coming to this office after years of care. While everyone is friendly & the space is clean & nice, scheduling is a pain! You're a pediatric dentist- you think the hours would be flexible for school students. The rude receptionist at the front told me that before school (which starts at 8am by the way - same time the office opens) are the most coveted spots! She never has them available! - Seriously?! They were scheduling cleanings at 8 months out & forget trying to schedule an emergency or same week appointment. If you need to reschedule you will be at least another month out. Dr Barber told me my daughter needed 5 fillings & schedule right away. When we came for our next cleaning, Dr Neiman said they were tiny & in baby teeth that were loose so not to worry or fill them!! I wonder how many other fillings over the years we didn't really need?! I felt like all they cared about was money! We now switched to a family dental office and are much happier!
