It may seem funny, but I knew I wanted to be a dentist ever since the fourth grade. There's been a Dr. Powers in this town, Lions, for almost a hundred years. My grandpa started dentistry here in 1928. My father was a physician after that. So I grew up seeing firsthand the positive impact they had on people from this area. So it's very rewarding to be able to help someone get out of terrible pain, to help someone chew better, to give them a great new smile that helps their self confidence and their self esteem. So, I take this honor seriously and it's also a lot of fun to be able to help those around me and to have that positive influence on people.
I have had extensive education and not only general dentistry, but also implant dentistry and sedation dentistry, so that gives us an edge in treating more difficult, complex dental cases, and it lets us provide all that here in one office location. Dr. Scott Powers received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1998. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After his residency, Dr. Powers completed a one-year fellowship in implant dentistry at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. Fewer than 1 percent of all dentists have completed two years of residency and fellowship training.
Dr. Powers is one of only a few general dentists in the state certified to administer IV sedation. He also provides hospital dentistry in the operating room using general anesthesia. He has taken thousands of hours of continuing education and loves to stay up to date on the latest advancements, especially in the field of implant dentistry.
Dr. Powerss father and grandfather have been doctors in Lyons since 1928. Dr. Powers has served as the Town of Lyons Board President for over 15 years. He has been married for over 20 years to Dr. Linda Powers, who practices orthodontics in Lyons and Terre Haute and is the only orthodontist in Greene County. They have two boys, Luke and John. Dr. Powers is an instrument-rated pilot with over 1,000 hours logged, and he also enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling.

Kylee graduated from USI in 2018 and began her career with us shortly after. She loves building relationships with her patients while educating them and helping them feel more confident. She also enjoys being with family, baking, cake decorating, traveling, and being outdoors.
Alysia has worked for us since 2010. She likes helping others and building relationships with our patients. Away from work, Alysia enjoys family time, jeeping, IU basketball, reading, and just loving life. She is also an active member of the Tulip Church of God.
Bethany joined our team in 2015. She works with your insurance to determine eligibility, file claims, and provide estimates. She would love to help you maximize your insurance benefits. When shes not working, she enjoys canvas painting, fishing, and anything hockey (go St. Louis Blues!).
Erinn has worked for us since 2015. She assists Dr. Powers and helps make our patients comfortable. She has become great friends with the other team members since working here. In her spare time, she enjoys music, sings in a band, and likes to write.
Lesli joined our team in 2006. She enjoys taking care of our patients oral health. Much of her spare time is spent with her husband and two boys. They love sports and spend lots of time outdoors with family and friends.
Tonya began working for us in 2012. She helps patients with their scheduling needs and enjoys getting to know each of them. Tonya is a single mother of three and enjoys shopping, singing in her church, watching IU basketball, and spending time with her kids.
