Dr. Worley completed a general collegiate education at McNeese State University, earned a doctoral degree in dentistry from L.S.U. School of dentistry and completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at Childrens Hospital at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. These ten years of higher education uniquely qualifies him to care for the oral health of infants, children, and teenagers, including those with special healthcare needs.
Dr. Worley successfully completed Board Certification in Pediatric Dentistry. This is a voluntary, vigorous examination process for the purpose of professional excellence. He is now designated a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the College of Diplomats. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Society of Dentistry for Children, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Gnathos Orthodontic Society. Scott and his wife Donna have four sons, most importantly; he is devoted to children in both his personal and professional life.

During your first visit to our office we want to take the time to get acquainted and gather information. This includes a thorough examination and possibly taking x-rays we feel may be required to make a complete diagnosis. At this time we will also discuss with you the nature of any necessary dental care.
We have ways of explaining procedures to children, being honest and presenting it in a manner that will not frighten them. If you child asks, will it hurt? We feel it is wise to say that the Dentist is your friend and will be very gentle with you. Avoid phrases such as it wont hurt and that wasnt so bad.
Dr. Worley practices exclusively to the treatment of children, specializing in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Through extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, adolescents and those with special health care needs.
A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education.
