Dr. Hetz is the best endodontist in the area. He did a re-treatment on my very last molar tooth, which is a very difficult area to get to. That was not painful , fast and pleasant experience. Dr. Hetz is a perfectionist, which should be the main quality for any Doctor. He would be satisfied only with the best result. Strongly recommend.

My root canal experience with Dr. Hetz was remarkable. I would most highly recommend him to anyone looking to have a root canal within 100 miles of Washington DC! Dr. Hetz not only made me feel at ease by thoroughly explaining the procedure, but also performed a flawless root canal. I am in the medical field and am acutely aware of how important it is to convey confidence and deliver superior results.. he did both and I have to say this was only the second time in my life I've had to have more than a cleaning. Again, I cannot say enough positive things about the experience.. pain-free, compassionate, and excellence are the overarching standards with Dr. Hetz.

I was referred to Dr. Hetz after noticing that my front tooth looked gray in pictures. For the past few years I'd been ignoring it because I didn't think anything could fix the color. (I'd had a root canal done 15 years previously due to facial trauma as a child.) Dr. Hetz and his staff were wonderful! The office is clean and quiet, which is always nice to calm the nerves before getting a root canal. Their technology is state of the art, and Dr. Hetz was happy to answer any questions I had during the entire procedure. He explained why my tooth was discolored and recommended trying internal bleaching to brighten it up to match my other teeth. This is a procedure that takes multiple visits, and each time Dr. Hetz and his staff were friendly, on time, and professional. The biggest plus is that my tooth is bright and white now! I know that endodontics is a very specialized field and that the quality of endodontists varies a lot. I highly recommend anyone who needs endodontic therapy to see Dr. Hetz-- he is the best of the best!

This review has been a long time coming and well deserved. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hetz for a root canal therapy procedure. I was referred to him when seeking a second opinion because my current dentist told me my only option was to extract my tooth. After reviewing my X-rays we discussed my options and agreed to go ahead with the procedure that would save my tooth. Dr. Hetz was incredibly professional and very thorough in his explanation of the procedure. We talked in great detail about the procedure, healing process and options if the operation wasn't successful. I really liked his dedication and care he took during our conversations. I felt he went above and beyond to achieve the results and even consulted with other professionals. Not only was the operation a success but the healing process was a breeze. I felt very well taken care of by Dr. Hetz and his staff. Everyone is warm and friendly and the office is nice and calming. Ultimately, if you are searching for an endodontist, look no further. I should start off my saying that I am beyond terrified of the dentist. I have been since I was a child but still haven't seemed to grow out of it at almost 30. My general dentist informed me that I needed to have a root canal done and recommended their traveling Endodontist. After one meeting with this guy I knew he would not be handling my root canal and so I went on the search to find someone I could trust. A good friend of mine recommended Advanced Endodontic Associates and in particular, Dr. Hetz. I met with him early one morning and I can't tell you enough how great the experience was. I came in for a second opinion on my root canal where Dr. Hetz determined I did indeed need one. I was beyond nervous, to the point of tears, but Dr. Hetz took the time to explain every single part of the root canal to me in detail. Not only did his explanation of the procedure calm me, his relaxed demeanor, professional knowledge and helpful staff made the process extremely easy. He explained every thing he did as he completed my root canal, which was a bit complicated so took about 1-1.5 hours. The follow-up from him and the team at Advanced Endodontic Associates was superb. They went above and beyond for me and I could not be more impressed. I can't say enough how great this experience was. I just wish they did general dentistry too!

I have never had such a painless, wonderful, and dare I say, comfortable dental visit. Advanced Endodontic Associate's immaculate office, friendly staff, and top notch equipment and care made me feel at ease while Dr. Scott Hetz worked his magic. I was the unfortunate 1% to crack my tooth Christmas week. Dr. Hetz met with me Dec. 26th (although he was off for the holiday), at the location of my choice. They have 3 locations including Rockville, DC, Chevy Chase; I chose Chevy Chase. Upon arrival, the front desk greeted me by name and with a smile. Check-in was easy and I was seated on time. Dr. Hetz confirmed my tooth was cracked but wanted me to wait a few weeks to see if my tooth/nerve would calm down and I could avoid doing a root canal. A dentist putting off treatment in the best interest of the patient? Unheard of. Kudos to you Dr. Hetz! Unfortunately, February rolled around and my tooth was still bothering me. I returned to Dr. Hetz for my root canal appointment at the DC location this time. Everything about this office is terrific. First, you can schedule appointments early before work. Second, check-in was easy with their electronic medical records. Third, the staff is all knowledgeable, and makes you feel extremely comfortable. Fourth, you can see everything Dr. Scott Hetz does to your mouth; from live pictures through a microscope, to x-rays and 3-D scans; all their equipment is top-of-the-line and state-of-the-art. Finally, Dr. Scott Hetz seemed to have great rapport with his assistants. That last bit is rather impressive. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Scott Hetz to anyone who needs a root canal; he is a great Endodontist who truly cares about his patients.
