Raised in Santa Rosa, California, Dr. Steven Scott graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Dentistry in 1988. He has dedicated more than 25 years to providing patients with a wide range of dental services in a comfortable atmosphere.
Dr. Paul graduated from Brigham Young University with degrees in Zoology and Spanish. He then received his dental training from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry having received a four year Dental Research Scholarship. He then gained additional training in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) 1 year residency at Fort Riley, Kansas. After serving the troops in the Army for 3 years, Dr. Paul has practiced dentistry in Colorado, Utah and now in California. When he is not at Scott Family Dental practice, he is a professor at a dental school.
Dr. Hoeft enjoys hiking, biking, camping, and snowboarding. He also enjoys working with the Boys Scouts and is an Eagle Scout himself. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry and has earned his Fellowship Award with the Academy of General Dentistry.

I love the dentists here but the front desk is a mess. Unreturned phone calls, incorrect billing, providing wrong information. Too many mistakes- I'll be looking for a new dentist unfortunately.

If you are looking for a dentist who is professional and caring- look elsewhere, I would not recommend Scott Family Dental. Recently, my daughters had a teeth cleaning and check up here, by I presume Dr. Scott, but there was no formal greeting. My eldest daughter completed her check up, while I was in the room with my youngest. The dentist came into the room and told me my son had a cavity. I said "my son?! I don't have a son". He brushed it off saying "the other kid in the room next door". Clearly he did not even bother to look at her chart to see her info, as her name is very obviously female. The lack of professionalism and care completely shocked me! The office staff, dental assistants and hygienists were all very kind, but I will not support a dentist who so blatantly lacks professionalism and compassion.

Super dissapointed in the service - front desk. My first appointment was the only time I felt good in their office. After that, my second and third time did not go so well. 3 different times after that I was treated a bit different from other patients. The first time I thought I was just being picky because I waited outside (cus of covid) for over 5 minutes while others that arrived after me we let in almost right away ( I was the only mexica). This happened over and over until today. I went in and again I am asked to wait outside - two others are let inn. I am asked for my screening questions, but my phone died so I had to do it all over again (front desk told me I had to wait for someone to bring me a form). I did, then a gentlemen comes to the door and he calls and tells them he didn't have his screening docs compelted either - but they ask his the questions verbally and allow him in! Yeap, once again. So I got upset and made a few comments asking why I am being treated differently and literally got no response. So I stopped and asked the front desk if she was able to hear me... She then tells me she is going to get some answers. After only waiting for 3 mintues I was very upset and walked to the front desk again. There was no one there, all of them were in a room gossiping about me (unless it was a meeting regarding the matter?) still didn't find that appropiate, 5 or 6 came out and I felt very uncomfortable. I decided it was team to leave, I told them I didn't want to be seen anymore. Another lady (must have been a manager) laughs when I ask her if I am being treated diffetenly becuase of my race! I told her this was not a joke! She said she and other employees are Mexican, so she found it funny that I would say that. Time to look for a new dentist! I changed my review from a 1 star to 3, becuase the dentist is awesome and so are the ladies that have cleaned my teeth!

Just returned here after my insurance switched. Trust me when I say how much I missed this place. Like they say, "you don't know what you had until it's gone." Shannon is simply the best hygienist EVER!

After having part of a filling fall out at my old dentist Dr. Scott was able to fix it quickly and efficiently. Clean and new office with a nice staff. I also appreciated how Dr. Scott explained everything he was going to do prior to doing it.
