I'm new to this area, but not to dental visits. I am particular about my dental provider and need someone who understands, not everyone can tolerate everything. I was referred to Dr. Laurie by my primary care physician. So, I felt confident in her referral. I've been suffering from the effects of periodontal disease for almost twenty years. As you may or may not know, the maintenance of periodontal disease is painful and forever changes your dental experiences. Dental examinations, although routine, become intolerable, to say the very least. I had asked Dr. Laurie to numb my mouth so that I could tolerate the examination, in particular the probing (I have deep pockets). He began to stick me several times (more than ten). I asked him to stop. When I asked him why I had to be stuck so many times, he explained that was what I requested (every tooth to be numb). I am a patient, I don't know or care what you numb, I just don't want to feel pain. He had implied that I was unable clearly express my dental past. I asked Dr. Laurie about the information in the reports from my periodontist and former dentist. I explained to Dr. Laurie that I was unable to relay my dental history using appropriate dental terms, but I knew I had not been stuck so many times EVER. As I told Dr. Laurie I wouldn't be able to tolerate more needles, he said to me with sheer agitation in his voice, "Then why don't you just do it (probing) like everybody else!" My experiences have nothing to do with anyone else. I have never been so disrespected or treated so harshly by a dentist. I want EVERYONE to know just how rude, ignorant and down right nasty Dr. Laurie is. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been using Dr. Lurie since he took over a few years ago for Dr. Schultz. He is caring, he does listen and is about as painless as it can be! I would refer anyone to him. The scared and the brave. I consider him much more than my dentist as his planning and dental work is very, very good! I also drive 40 miles out of my way to go to Dr. Lurie. Honestly, I don't get the negative reviews about Dr. Lurie. He is awesome, listens and cares an awful lot about his clients and their health!

Stay away from Dr. Scott Lurie! This place is only after your money. The doctor makes up things that are wrong with your teeth just to get more work. He does not listen to what the patient have to say or prefers. He cannot tell if there is cavity or just plaque from x-ray and exam. His assistant is inexperienced. His office manager Martha thinks she can bully patients when there is disagreement. I would strongly recommend that you avoid this place.
