Raised on a small ranch in Idaho Falls, ID, I learned the value of work. My parents believed that work came first, and play came second. They created in me an ethic that one should put all ones effort into the task at hand whether it be shingling a roof, landscaping chores, or athletic practice. Ive learned that a job done well is something that one should always strive to achieve. My father has always told me that any job worth doing is worth doing right. This philosophy has guided my life in all regards. I learned to appreciate the value of living a life governed by high morals, honesty and hard work. These early teachings have been of paramount importance in guiding and directing my personal and professional life. During my time as a student at Creighton University School of Dentistry, I was pleased with my decision to make Dentistry my profession. I received an excellent academic as well as clinical education. Creighton provided me with a great opportunity to treat patients with many needs and to be personally involved in their care. With the help of a tremendous faculty to aid in this process, many lessons were learned. Since graduation from Creighton, I have had the opportunity to attend hundreds of hours of continuing education. I have completed very intensive hands-on training in posterior aesthetics, cosmetic dentistry and treatment of TMD as well as full mouth rehabilitation dentistry using Neuromuscular techniques. I attended the full continuum of classes at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the premier post graduate dental learning center in the world. This education has increased the level of care that I have been able to offer my patients in immeasurable ways! I feel that I exceed the expectations of my patients and go well beyond the expected norm. My journey with dental education came full circle when I was a clinical adjunct faculty member at Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa. I was excited to participate in the education of new dentists and again was pleased to be a dentist. I know personally how dentistry can change lives. I have seen it and have been very moved by my patients as they have trusted me with their care. The expressions of gratitude always make me feel lucky to have been involved in the experience. They never fail to inspire me and increase my desire to share the talents and abilities that I have been fortunate to develop. I know that I have made in a difference in the lives of my patients. I also know that I can make a difference today for you.

One of the treatment options a cosmetic dentist may employ to improve the appearance of a person's smile is dental bonding. Also known as tooth bonding, dental bonding is a procedure that involves applying a tooth-colored resin to the teeth to achieve the desired result. When a cosmetic dentist performs dental bonding, the dentist applies

Standard dental implants can restore the function of missing teeth and preserve the jawbone. The three major components of implants closely mimic natural teeth and with proper care, these implants can last a lifetime, making them a popular choice among dentists and patients. Natural teeth are rigid, calcified structures that protrude past the gum line

Have you ever wondered what a dental crown restoration is? It is one option for repairing your teeth if you have a cracked or broken tooth or if your tooth has extensive wear and tear. A crown is made from porcelain and metal alloy, which makes them very strong and durable. This is a common

Oral health issues like gum disease can make each day painful and uncomfortable. Even if the early symptoms of gum disease don't seem to cause any pain, prompt treatment

Through the work of a cosmetic dentist, individuals have the opportunity to transform a smile, repair broken or cracked teeth, and restore oral health. Whether it is a treatment to whiten the teeth or the attachment of a dental crown, cosmetic dentistry provides long-term solutions for patients who deal with poor function, discomfort, and low

The team at Scott Condie Dentistry believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Scott Condie Dentistry work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Gilbert area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Scott Condie Dentistry can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.
