Originally from Utah, Dr. Hicken received a BS degree in Biology fromUtahState Universityin 1982. Hereceived his DDS degree formthe University of Oklahoma1986. Graduating with honors, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and also received an award for outstanding proficiency in childrens dentistry. Dr. Hicken completed a general practice residency at the VA hospital in Martinez, CA before entering privatepracticein 1987. Dr. Hicken and his wife, Jennette, have been happily married since 1980 and have four grown children and three beautiful granddaughters. When not caring for his patients, Dr. Hicken enjoys camping, hiking, hunting,traveling, and scuba diving with his family. He is active inhis church and community, and volunteers countless hours inthe Boy Scouts of America program.
Pam is our treatment coordinator. She has worked in the dental field since 1976 both as a dental assistant and as an office administrator. She has been with our practice since 2003. Pam takes pleasure in working with Dr. Hicken, his staff, and most of all, the patients. You can see it in her smile! Pam and her husband have two grown children, and a daughter-in-law. Pam is helpful in planning our office social events, and has been gracious in sharing her Lake Tahoe cabin with the staff.
Molly is a Registered Dental Hygienist, working part-time on Wednesday and Thursday. She graduated with honors from Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, in 1990.She began practicing in California shortly after that. During the first seven years she worked mostly in periodontics. She has been with Dr. Hicken since 1997, and enjoys the familiarity and friendships with her patients. She especiallylikes working with children andearning their confidence and smiles in a sometimes anxious situation. She enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. In her spare moments, Mollyenjoys sewing, crocheting, playing piano, photography, and serving in herchurch.
Bethany began working as a dental assistantin our office in 1998. She attended Napa Valley College, and received her AS degree in Dental Hygiene from Sacramento City College in 2002. Bethany enjoys interacting and educating patients from different backgrounds, personalities and ages on how to maintain healthy smiles. Besidescleaningteeth, her goal is to help those who are nervous or apprehensive feel at ease in the dental chair. When not at work, Bethanycan be foundspending time with her husband and two children. She volunteers at school and Girl Scout activities. She enjoys being outdoors walking, jogging, and swimming. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and arts and crafts.
Angie was born and raised in Hawaii, and brings her beautiful smile and aloha spirit to our office. She and her husband have traveled the world with the military, and are the parents of two daughters and a son. In 2001, while stationed in Tampa, Florida, she became a dental assistant through the Red Cross Volunteer Program. She became a Registered Dental Assistant in 2008. Angie enjoys hiking, working out, baking and spending time with family and friends. She states that she 'enjoys being part of a friendly and dedicated staff.'

Dr. Hicken and his entire staff are Wonderful. I called their office on 12/10/2021 and was seen today on 12/14/2021 ( a crown popped off one of my lower teeth and needed to be cemented back on). Even though Dr. Hicken's office doesn't accept Dental-Cal they do take Care Credit, and they will never gouge you. Their charges are very reasonable. I will highly recommend Dr. Hicken and his staff always.

I have know Dr. Hicken and " family" for as long as he has been practicing. 25 years I think. I'm not a Dentist Lover ( I dislike anything going on in my mouth) But every time I need some major work done, Dr.Scott always understands my fears and consoles me. He is a very kind hearted man and very personable. And he always tells me what he is going to do and what he is doing while treating me. That's important !! I too, love his staff. They are equally caring and fun. My children were treated by Dr. Hicken as were my Grandchildren. Please.. don't ever retire Dr.Scott Here's to 25 more years!!

I went in after 8 years and actually got the dentist that worked on my teeth the last time! I think that's awesome because it really feeds into the family atmosphere by setting the same people who remember you and care. They are very friendly, they listen very well and they explain as much as you need to feel comfortable. I always had problems going to the dentist as a kid until I found Dr. Hicken for those very reasons. Couldn't recommend more!

Dr. Hicken has accommodated me in various emergencies from major toothaches while out of state to cracked teeth and crowns. He is great about offering inexpensive options first followed by more expensive solutions if the first option doesn't work. He does quality dental work without charging astronomical prices. If the dental work needed is beyond his expertise, he will tell you so and refer you to someone who specializes in what you need. I highly recommend Dr Hicken for any of your general dentistry needs.

Dr. Hicken and his fantastic staff guided me through the process, making a potentially very traumatic experience very manageable. I never thought I would look forward to visits to the Dentist. If my review sounds gushing, it is for a simple reason. Dr. Hicken gave me my smile back.

greatest dentist every found. love this place as they are very respectful and friendly with kids. my 3 years loves it and she is getting used to it. i have changed 3 office in a 2 years but this time, i will remain as my whole family is enjoying the office.

I am retired Air Force and have been seen by multiple Dentists over the past 40 years. Dr Scott Hicken and his staff are hands down the best I've experienced! Their customer service and dentistry services are the best. I can't say enough wonderful things about them all!!!! You will be in great hands!!

I've had many, too many, dentists over my 60 years and untold root canals, and none can even approach Scott for service and professionalism. Outstanding guy and outstanding dentist, with a friendly, first rate staff.
