Dr. Scott graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1980. He also attended the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate, attaining his Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in sociology.
Desiring to further his education and his love of pediatrics, Dr. Scott finished a specialty degree at New York-PresbyterianColumbia UniversityMedical Center Hospital in New York City. Dr. Scott went back to his hometown of Hewlett to open his office for children over 28 years ago. He has been in his current location for 12 years. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Scott has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. When hes out of the office, Dr. Scott likes to spend time with his wife Yvon, and together they have raised three pediatric dental patients of their own (who are almost all out of the house). On any given Sunday, you may find Dr. Scott on the softball field.

I am 28 now but my mother used to take my younger sister and I here all the time as youngsters. I never dreaded coming to the dentist and loved the office and play area. The office staff was always accomodating and Dr. Amer was always the best. He was always gentle and always gave me the option of which flavor i wanted for my teeth to clean and for the filling. Thank you Dr. Amer for always being the best at what you do and never instilling the fear of dentists at a young age! Keep being the best!! :) Sincerely, (a former child patient of yours.)

Dr. Amer's office is extremely child friendly and inviting. We never had anything but the best interaction with him or his staff. He is a keeper.
