Dr. Norton was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. He attended Indiana University as an undergraduate and later the University Of Louisville School Of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors in 1996. He then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Louisville Hospital. Dr. Norton then completed his Endodontic Specialty Residency and Masters Degree in Dentistry in 2000 at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis.
In 2000, Dr. Norton established a state of the art Endodontic practice in Louisville. Over the years he has received numerous awards and studied with many endodontic experts. Dr. Norton continues to enhance his endodontic technology and techniques by attending extensive continuing education courses.
Dr. Norton is the past president of the Alpha Omega Dental organization of Louisville and currently is on the executive board of the Louisville Dental Society. He is a member of multiple Dental study clubs and organizations in Louisville and throughout the country.
Endodontics (from the Greek word endo inside; and odons tooth) is one of the dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association, and deals with the tooth pulp and the tissues surrounding the root of a tooth.
Endodontists perform a variety of procedures including root canal therapy, endodontic retreatment, Apical surgery, treating cracked teeth, and treating dental trauma. Root canal therapy is one of the most common procedures. If the pulp becomes diseased or injured, endodontic treatment is required to save the tooth.

I manage Ankylosing spondylitis and have issues with stiffness in my neck which has made it very very difficult to get X-rays for my teeth. They were amazing here and adjusted the equipment to get X-rays! This is the first place that has been able to go out of their way to accommodate me. I would definitely recommend.

I don't have enough words to express just how much I love Dr Scott and his practice. I will say, I have major anxiety with anything dental related, MAJOR! My dentist, Dr Gill referred me to Dr Scott for a Root canal and filling. I walked in so nervous, talking a LOT which I do when I get nervous. Everyone was so nice, so caring. I felt listened to. Most importantly, Dr Scott took his time with me. He did scans, and spoke to me about my anxiety. He came up with a plan. My procedure, I am telling you all, I didn't feel a thing. They had a pillow and blanket for me. The dental chairs are so comfortable. I fell asleep. Dr Scott would ask if I am ok, feeling any pain etc throughout my procedure. I love this practice and Dr Scott! I have already recommended him to 2 friends. If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. You will not be disappointed. This is as close to a concierge Endodontist you will find, as you are given his cell number just in case you have any questions or concerns before or after your procedure. Friendly, calm, caring environment.

Dr. Norton and his staff were excellent. I can't speak highly enough of them. They got me in the same day. Numbed my mouth very well and I didn't feel a thing. They talked me through every step and did a good job distracting me with their own stories. This was my 3rd root canal and first by him. He was by far the best and without any pain. Hopefully I won't need his services again but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him eventhough he is not close to my home.

My daughter needed a root canal and was originally scheduled at another office. She was in a tremendous amount of pain and couldn't wait a week for the appointment, so I was looking for an office to take her ASAP. Dr. Norton's office got her in the next day. They are so nice! From the front desk staff to Dr. Norton himself, I was made aware of what was happening during her procedure and the cost breakdown after insurance. My daughter, who is 16, was nervous going in, but they made her feel very comfortable. Before leaving the office, they explained everything very well and made sure we understood. I highly recommend Dr. Norton; he and his staff are amazing!!

It's not hard to see why his waiting room is full of "Top Doc" awards. Anyone with a basic understanding of the complex human body knows that it's not a machine; there are too many variables to expect guarantees. What I look for in a specialist is someone who is an expert in their field, will give me their best, and will be straight with me. No doubt that's what Dr. Norton does. The facilities are incredible, including an "in house" MRI machine! Equally important, Dr. Norton and his staff genuinely care. Oral surgery is going to involve stress. These folks do all they can to make you feel that you are in good hands. I'm so pleased that my dentist sent me here. I highly recommend this team!

Scott Norton performed a root canal on one of my teeth March 7th, 2022. He was referred by the dentist I found after my dentist retired. He has a very clean dental office on the second floor of a Professional Tower in St Matthews. I had low level of pain after the surgery and let the regular dentist know when I went in for teeth cleaning appointments, every 2 or three months. The dentist assured me it would go away however it gradually increased to an outright throbbing toothache. Scott Norton told me in March that if I had any problems be sure and let his office know. I decided to contact Scott's office August 9th, 2022 as the pain kept worsening and I thought he might be able to figure it out since he did the root canal. Upon arrival I was greeted by a young woman who asked for my credit card so she could charge $375 for an X-ray. I was very surprised to be greeted this way when the Dr didn't even see me before this request for money. Upon talking with others who have paid for this type of X-ray this price seemed high especially since it was a follow up and he hadn't even looked in my mouth. The X-ray didn't show anything wrong so the treatment was to shave away sections of the work done on the tooth to get it more level. I would have preferred this be done first and an examination first and explanation of price ahead of time. I still have pain and was told to go back in three months and have another X-ray.
