I took ownership of the Schoolhouse Practice in 2011. I graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2008, and consider myself a leader in the exciting new wave of digital dentistry. I am proud to implement the latest, advanced techniques of CAD/CAM CEREC technology, diode lasers, digital impressions, digital radiographs, digital intra-oral cameras and implant dentistry. Our porcelain restorations are completely metal free and we are an amalgam free practice. We are no longer using controversial mercury based fillings, and now exclusively place light-cured resin composite fillings. My team members have been hand-selected and I strongly believe they are some of the best in our area. They welcome patients into our Schoolhouse Family with a warmth and caring that I am proud of. They go above and beyond to assist patients with the daunting tasks of understanding their insurance policies and their financial obligations like no other office I have ever seen.
Our practice grows each and every year from word of mouth by our patients. We find that they attribute our warm, accommodating, easy-going atmosphere and our amazing, same-day CEREC process to why they love to come here. Every patient who experiences the CEREC process cant help but tell a friend! Imagine designing and fabricating a crown with complete precision all in a single visit! This means no annoying temporaries, no awful mouthfuls of impression material, no endless adjustments, and the patient walking away with their new crown in place that very day. This is how revolutionary dentistry has become!
I would rival my decade of experience with the CEREC with just about any other dentist in the country. Ive had the pleasure to mentor colleagues who have made the investment in CEREC technology, and have been asked to lecture on behalf of CEREC. It is a great honor when other dentists ask me to treat their own dental needs with our CEREC. They realize Schoolhouse Family Dentistry is a leader in this amazing time in digital dentistry and I take that as a huge compliment.

Hi, Im Tina. Ive managed Schoolhouse Family Dentistry for the last 16 years. It was fun and refreshing to see the changes that Dr. John made when he bought the practice in 2011. Its been great to be a part of the newest philosophies and technology from digital x-rays to our amazing, one-day, in-house crown process! Im working more behind the scenes these days but Im always here to assist with any special needs, requests or concerns you may have. The best part of my job is getting to know our patients and watching their families grow. I feel so blessed to work with such a caring, hilarious group of ladies.I cant imagine being anywhere else. My loves are my three gentle giant Newfoundland dogs and the time I spend with my husband at our place near Lake Huron. Curling up with a good book and trying out new recipes are close seconds. Hi, Im Danielle! I am the Treatment Coordinator here at Schoolhouse Family Dentistry. I am the first smiling face youll see when you walk into the office. I have 15+ years of dental experience, with a chair-side assistant background. I enjoy getting to know our patients in the family atmosphere we have created. I am very much a people person, so dont be afraid to strike up a conversation with me! I am here to help you with understanding the treatment recommended by Dr. John and your financial obligations, as well as insurance limitations. You can also find me helping our assistants when they need an extra set of trained hands. My favorite part of working at Schoolhouse is the friendly environment. Hi, I'm Taylor! I am a Dental Assistant here at Schoolhouse Family Dentistry. I work alongside Dr. John during restorative procedures. It is my job to ensure that you are comfortable, relaxed and understand the treatment you are undergoing. I graduated from Ross Medical Education Center here in Brighton. I am sohappy that I chose a career that makes me excited to get up and come to work every morning! Working with everyone here makes it easy to do so! I recently went to the Schoolhouse Family Dentistry practice for a teeth cleaning. Everyone was very nice and friendly and did a great job cleaning my teeth. Dr. John was great. I'll be having some work done in the near future. Dr John explained everything that needs to be done. Thanks for the great experience!

Our family has been going to Schoolhouse for over 15 years and we have always had a good experience and been treated well. The hygienists are great and each member of our family has experience with different hygienists, all of which has been positive.

I was very pleased with my visit. Dr. John explained everything and we came up with a plan. Everyone I met seemed interested in meeting me and providing me with great care. Made me feel very comfortable. Looking forward to going back. Edit 4 years later - just had another crown, it was fast and relatively painless. As always the staff was great.

After having much restoration over the years, I can tell you Dr.John lays out a plan to allow you to achieve desirable results. There is never pressure but always honesty, he's always up front in his messaging. He also is willing to listen to feedback, with no sensitivity. Taylor who is his assistant was superb in skill at my last appointment, two crowns, and the process was seamless from start to finish. My teeth look beautiful! My thanks to these two wonderful people, and to the entire staff. They all work to make the dental experience as painless and enjoyable as possible.

Our whole family has been going to School House Dentistry for over 10 years. The staff is so friendly, they always run on time and they spend the necessary time with you tending to your teeth and chatting about anything you want to ensure you are comfortable. Dr is knowledgable and realistic. Thoroughly recommend!

After a long hiatus from the dentist I finally made a call and went to Schoolhouse. Dr. John, Judy, Taylor(?) and the rest of the staff were all very welcoming, professional and overall it was a pleasant experience. Much better than the previous dentists that I have seen!
