Schommer Dental is a Davenport based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using advanced dental equipment. We are a cosmetic dentist that offers services like checkups, teeth cleaning, crowns, veneers and more.
Dr. Clayton Schommer grew up in Bettendorf, IA and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa. He completed a Masters degree in Biomedical Science in 2012. From there, he attended dental school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL, completing his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree in 2017. After that, he worked as an associate for 4 years. In 2021, Dr. Clay stepped into the role as owner. He lives in Davenport with his wife Cass and their two children. When he isnt busy at work, he enjoys cheering for the Hawkeyes, fishing, gardening, playing board games, and traveling with his family.
Dr. Clay is passionate about continuing education and the benefits it brings his patients. He aims to complete over 50 hours of continuing education courses annually and continuously seeks out training and professional development opportunities that allow him to remain knowledgeable about new dental practices and the latest technology. His favorite thing about practicing dentistry, is being able to transform his patients smiles and give them the confidence to look and feel their best. His areas of interest include aesthetic techniques, dental materials, oral surgery, and implantology.

Staff at Schommer dental were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Schommer is a great dentist. Helps you feel relaxed. Had 2 teeth pulled and was in and out in a half hour. Would recommend this dentist. Very positive experience.

Great staff!! Karen was amazing, friendly and informative... Dr. Schommer and staff are an amazing group. Update 10/26/22 Karen as always was great, she makes getting my teeth cleaned a most pleasant experience! Also her tip of flossing my teeth while I am watch tv has paid off, I floss more and she noticed today. Dr. C. Schommer he is the best... professional, friendly, caring and personable.

Today was my first visit. I suffer from high anxiety. From the moment I came in the door I was at peace. Everyone was nice. As I was walked down to my room I was good. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable. They were never in a hurry. Answered all my questions. Absolutely the very best experience in a dental office. It felt like family. I would highly recommend Dr. Schommer. Most importantly. It DID NOT smell like a dental office.

Since moving to Iowa, I've had trouble finding a professional and trusting dentist. I switched to Schommer Dental and extremely happy with my decision. My hygienist Karen, she was so friendly, extremely gentle, very informative and walked me through everything she was doing. I have pretty sensitive teeth and require numbing gel during cleanings. Karen was so gentle, I didn't need any numbing gel for the first time in a few years. Throughout my appointment, she made sure that I was doing okay. At the end of your appointment, most dentist walk in the room, sit down, tell you to open your mouth, saying "looks good" and leaves. Dr. Clay took his time to talk with me and was very professional and informative. The office staff were also great! I did not catch their names, but everyone in this office was extremely friendly and gave me a great experience. I'm so glad I made the switch and would recommend anyone to Schommer Dental.

Had first consult with Dr. Schommer! I was very impressed:) He is very knowledgeable, kind and patient. I ask alot of questions and he explained every scenario . His staff was very comforting , kind , and helpful also! The office is clean and modern. I am very pleased.

Called about 8:30/9 this morning because online said next available date would be late next month to get tooth extracted. Decided to call them and they got me in at noon same day. Barley got a chance to sit and get comfortable before they called me to the back. Front office, dental assistant, and the Dr. We're all nice. Once the numbing shots were in full effect they got my tooth out in about 5 minutes, no pain or excess pulling to were I felt uncomfortable or wanted them to stop. Would recommend, I had a bad experience at another office which had me super nervous but like I said everything was fine and the staff made everything better.
