Scholes Periodontics & Implants - Periodontist in Chandler, AZ

Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Our patients regain the ability to eat without worry and smile with confidence, knowing their teeth appear natural and their facial contours will be preserved. Dental implants are changing the way people live. With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh, and enjoy life. Dr. Scholes specifically trained to place dental implants during his surgical residency in 1992. Over the last three decades he has placed over 13,000 implants. He uses only the most-advanced techniques and surgical supplies for the planning of and placement of dental implants.

We also give back to our community in many meaningful ways.'

Hello, my name is April! I was born in Mesa, AZ, but then moved to Texas. I have been practicing dental hygiene since 1993 when I graduated from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. You will often find me horseback riding with my family and participating in horsemanship events. My family and I enjoy camping, hiking, and the outdoors.

I have worked in Periodontics for most of my career. In fact, I have been working with Dr. Scholes since 1999. I have truly felt at home at this incredible practice. I strive to treat my patients with the gentleness of a friend. One of the best parts of being on this team is the happy and uplifting atmosphere we share. All of us really treasure our patients and the trust they instill in us.

An Arizona native, I grew up in the small town of Coolidge, AZ. I graduated from ASU and then completed Dental Hygiene School at Rio Salado College in 2013. I enjoy spending time with my family and all the outdoors have to offer, including hiking, bike riding, and kayaking. And most of all, I love walking my Boxers, Roxy and Miles!

I have been with Scholes Perio since 2003, including the time I spent as Dr. Scholes Surgical Assistant. What started as a job has become a career filled with working alongside friends who feel like my extended family. My favorite part of being a dental hygienist is getting to know my patients and helping them improve their oral health. Every day is a new challenge and full of rewards!

I have been a dental assistant for 20 years, and have worked with Dr. Scholes for over a decade. I have a nickname around the office as the go-to girl! I believe in providing a friendly atmosphere. My coworkers are awesome, always being incredibly kind and caring to our patients. I am devoted and believe in this practice.

I was born in Racine, Wisconsin but grew up in many different states. I recently moved to Chandler, AZ from Redding, CA. I graduated from High School in 10 and attended Shastar Trinity Dental assisting school. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my adorable daughter Aria. Spending time with my family is very important to me! I thoroughly enjoy the great outdoors and you can often find me hiking, swimming, and kayaking.

I have been a dental assistant for over 9 years, but recently switched to the periodontal field. I absolutely love working as a surgical assistant, especially a periodontal surgical assistant. My goal is to help save patients teeth and to instill self esteem in their smile. Dr. Scholes and his team are amazing and I am so glad to be a part of it.

I was raised on a cattle farm in Alberta, Canada. The closest town, which was 8 miles away, has a population of about 500. This is extremely small compared to our huge cactus state! I love travelling back to Canada to visit family and friends. My happiest moments are spent exploring the outdoors while hiking various trails around the valley. I especially love the beauty of hiking Havasupai Falls and the Grand Canyon.

I started my dental career in general dentistry and then transitioned into periodontics. I love being on this journey with our patients to a healthier smile! Im very blessed to have joined this amazing team at Scholes Perio.

I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. I moved to Arizona in 2006 after visiting my family and falling in love with the warm weather and meeting my incredible husband, Toby. I enjoy spending time with my three handsome fur babies Geno, Rocco, and Jax. I also enjoy outdoor activities, laying by the pool, hiking, and traveling. Im always excited to adventure beyond my comfort zone!

I have worked in the dental field for 11 years and enjoy the one-on-one connection with patients and building new relationships. I enjoy working with Dr. Scholes and our team because of the outstanding patient care that is provided, as well as the family-oriented atmosphere in the office. I take great pride in being able to help patients improve their smiles and overall health.

I was raised in Kansas City, Kansas and more recently, Fort Collins, CO. I received my Bachelor 's Degree in Music, vocal emphasis. Several years ago, I moved here with my husband who is an Arizona native. He is currently becoming a certified airline pilot. As strange as it seems, I have always enjoyed visiting the dentist. I hope to return to school to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. When I am not working, I like taking my cockapoo named 'Pippa' for walks, reading books, and finding new places to explore. Being very new to the Scholes Perio Team, I look forward to learning about this interesting specialized care in dentistry.

Hi! I am Sharla Price. I recently joined the fabulous Scholes Perio team 'family.' I call it a family because I immediately felt welcomed by the love and positive energy of our office. I am a mother of seven children and grandmother to two adorable grandchildren. I had the privilege of being a stay at home mother for many years. I thoroughly enjoy doing activities with my family including traveling and playing games. And we are passionate about watching our kids play sports. When my children grew up, I decided to return to school to earn my Bachelor 's Degree. After earning my degree, I chose to join the workforce. Working with our periodontal patients, I found that I have a knack for making them feel welcomed here. The compassionate attitude of both dental hygienists (April is my big sis), Dr. Scholes, and the whole team at Scholes Perio proves to me that our patients are in the best hands.

I was born and raised in the small town of Richfield, Utah where my family owned and operated a dairy farm and processing plant. I learned the value of hard work at a very early age. After I graduated from Utah Valley University, I met and fell in love with an Arizona boy. We were married and raised our four children in this area since 1994. I spent most of my life being a mom to Riley, Kade, Bree and Cole. For years, I worked part time in Marketing for Scholes Periodontics and Implants. Then in May 2020, I joined the team in the front office as a Patient Coordinator. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by this wonderful, positive, caring group of professionals.

Scholes Periodontics & Implants - Periodontist in Chandler, AZ

A commitment to continuing education has led me to participate in hundreds of courses covering a myriad of topics. In addition, I am an active member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology. In 2014, I completed an Advanced Surgical Residency Program at the Malo Institute in Lisbon, Portugal with Dr. Paulo Malo. He is one of the pioneers of the Nobel All-On-4 (Same Day Smile/Teeth in a Day) system. Since then, I have helped many of our patients transform their smiles with our Same Day Smile process. Currently, I serve as a Spear Study Club Co-Leader. Collaborating with my fellow dental practitioners is one of the best parts of being a specialist.

When I am not working with patients and my outstanding team, I can be found exploring the Arizona White Mountains on my ATV, hanging out with my family, or traveling with my wife. I also enjoy volunteering with several locations and national non-profit organizations.

Helping patients to improve their overall oral health and to keep their teeth brings me immense joy and fulfillment. Behind every patient is a valued individual who deserves my compassion and my best effort. I am fortunate to work with a highly skilled, dedicated and committed team who is devoted to the same ideals as me.

The hygienist, Sara, is very thorough and very good at what she does. In fact I wouldn't trade her for any of my prior hygienists, and I've had a few...

I find Dr. Scholes and his staff exceptional. I have gone there I believe since 2005 or six for periodontal disease and would not go anywhere else. April gets my highest rating because of her kind and caring way of treating me as a patient and her knowledge of her job. She takes her time listening if I have something to tell her. I go in there with anxiety but soon as I am in the chair I relax. She has always done a excellent job on my cleanings. Been a patient with her for over 20 years. Also the front staff are very welcoming and kind. Thanks very much, Eddie Palmer

First time having dental surgery. Everything went very smooth and efficient. Didn't hurt much and was in and out in about an hour. I expected a lot more discomfort and I haven't even needed any pain meds.

This was my first visit after the consult it was a deep cleaning. This is kind of scary for me .. but my experience was wonderful. My mouth and me were treated with care. I was given all kinds of instructions to make my life and gums happier too. Really happy I changed to this practice.

Excellent visit as always. Front office extremely helpful in scheduling, following up on cancellation list, and working with Ins. Co. Dr. Scholes takes time to answer questions and is conservative in his treatment when possible. Cleaning and intake staff are great as well, listening to patient about pain/numbing levels during procedures. Best Dr. office I have been to across all specialties.

The young ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and signed me in and checked me out promptly and efficiently. My visit was with April, my hygienist, and once again, she did a thorough job checking my gums and cleaning my teeth. She answered questions I had about cleaning a problem area and provided me with multiple proxabrushes and showed me how to use them properly to clean between the affected teeth. April has been my hygienist for 22 years and has always done an excellent job. I have been a patient of Dr. Scholes for 22 years and have had multiple periodontal surgeries, an extraction and one implant during this time with no problems. I am completely satisfied with the quality of service that he has provided for 22 years.

Office friendly and very professional. I had Dental implants 2016 -2017 then covid 2020-2021 - I experience a Dental Implant failure. Therefore scheduled an appointment with Kendall Scholes being that he had completed the procedure of the Dental Implant. Scholes stated that insurance would not cover the replacement. Therefore I was concern. Gosh It was an expensive procedure and my out of pocket expense 3k and insurance covered the rest of the balance. Scholes stated "I can only guarantee 3 years. Therefore I can discount the bone graft and the dental posting and this would be an out of pocket expense due before dental procedure. Oh and you have to schedule an appointment with your regular dentist to have the crown procedure." No credit, was given no compassion was render. I was still uncertain why I needed to pay out of pocket again, when it was an Implant failure. Dental Implants Last with regular brushing and flossing, the implant screw itself can last a lifetime, The crown, however, usually only lasts about 10 to 15 years before it may need a replacement due to wear and tear. to procedure it's almost a lifetime. My bridge lasted more over 20 years. with this new procedure on Dental Implant there was No infection it just fell due to Dental Implant failure. Now I have to schedule an appointment with regular dentist for the crown which will be an out of pocket expense. My question is this a Possible Victim of Malpractice or Negligence ? No dentist wants to deal with a lawsuit. Most will refund you when your implants fail, or give you credit towards an alternative dental procedure. H.Kendall Scholes DMD MS he would not stand by his work he provided with a statement "I only guarantee 3 years of dental implant procedure." Per serval articles and research alternatives Dental Implants should be a lifetime. It's so upsetting that a dental practice would operate in this matter. I needed to voice this process out the out come in my case was not rewarding for me. now I have to reprocess the procedure for the 3rd time this is getting expensive.
