Dr. Schoettger was one of the first in Lincoln to be certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.This is an elective process which requires excelling in multiple written and oral examinations as well as presenting a series of his treatment outcomes. This achievement represents a conscientious effort to excel in the specialty of Orthodontics.
On most Friday mornings, you will find Dr. Schoettger teaching at the UNMC College of Dentistry as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Orthodontics Graduate Clinic.It is an exciting way to share treatment philosophies and techniques with residents and fellow faculty members.
Bob and his wife Mary Kay have been married for over 30 years.They have a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jaredand Kali, a daughter and son-in-law, Dani and Adam, who live in Kansas City (Dani is a elementary music educator and Adam is an engineer for Garmin), and a daughter, Anna, who is currently in orthodontic residencyat UNMC College of Dentistry. The Schoettgers have fouryoung grandchildren who have kept thembusy with babysitting duties!
Though family life, private practice and teaching occupies much of Dr. Schoettgers time,he still enjoys a variety of hobbies including music (piano and saxophone), fishing (walleye and northern), gardening (dahlias) and photography.
During his time at UNMC, Dr. Jared was able to learn from and work with many different orthodontists in the Lincoln community, which has allowed him to experience a wide array of different treatment approaches and philosophies. Dr. Jared is involved in the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists and has been able to attend multiple national conventions, in-office courses, and practice management seminars. In addition to mastering traditional bracket systems, Dr. Jared is able to confidently provide treatment with Invisalign and Damon brackets due to his travels to attend courses dedicated specifically to those subjects.
In 2020, Dr. Jared is currently serving as the Presidentof the Nebraska Society of Orthodontists. We are glad that he has been part of leading thisorganization focusing on providing resources and communication for Nebraskas orthodontists.
Dr. Jared has been married to his wife Kali for thirteen years, and they have a four- and six-year-old keeping them busy! They love to hang out at the Lincoln Childrens Zoo, travel, read, cheer for the Huskers. Jared loves to fish, golf, and play guitar. Kali loves to sing and photograph the kids!
Dr. Jared was excited to join Schoettger Orthodontics in 2015 and has had a great time serving the amazing families that are part of the practice. He is a great asset to our office and and plays a large role in providing excellent orthodontic care.
While at UNMC, Dr. Anna was able to learn orthodontics from many mentors with a multitude of different skills, allowing her to discover and apply diverse treatment methods. She is passionate about continuing to use the newest technologies at Schoettger Orthodontics, from Invisalign and SureSmile, to 3D printed appliances.
She is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists and has enjoyed being involved in these organizations through several leadership roles while in dental school and residency.
Dr. Anna loves spending time with her 8-year-old retired racing greyhound, Shadow. They love being outside together, taking walks, and climbing hikes when they get the chance to escape to the mountains. Dr. Anna also has a talent for singing classical music (she was a music major in college!) and, every once in a while, you may hear a few tunes from her around the clinic.
Dr. Anna is truly excited and honored to begin serving the Lincoln community through your smile experience at Schoettger Orthodontics. Her clinical skills, knowledge, and expertise in orthodontics perfectly compliments the work of Dr. Jared, Dr. Bob, and our team.

My kids were very excited to get started with their ortho treatment plans, my daughter was a little nervous and they made her feel so comfortable. Her dad saw Dr. Bob when he was little they went and found his old chart and brought it up to show her! She thought it was so fun to see photos of her dad when he was little! Small acts like this made her feel so comfortable! Dr Jared and Dr Anna have been great with the beginning of her treatment! We Love Schoettger and always recommend to people!
