Dr. Samuel Schindel received his undergraduate, dental and orthodontic training at New York University, where he graduated with honors, winning an award from the American Academy of Dental Medicine for proficiency in the field of dental medicine and the study of disease processes of the oral cavity. He additionally earned a commission in the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of captain. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, as well as a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Northeast Society of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists. He has been providing the highest standard of orthodontic care for over 40 years.
Dr. Robert Schindel received his undergraduate training at Binghamton University. He graduated with honors for outstanding academic achievement and was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to do his dental and orthodontic training at the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook. He has been a professor of orthodontics at the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook since 1994, teaching in the postgraduate orthodontic, postgraduate pediatric, postgraduate oral biology and pathology and undergraduate dental programs. Dr. Schindel has authored and mentored numerous research projects at the school and has subsequently been published numerous times in international orthodontic journals, including the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, The Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and The Angle Orthodontist. He has also lectured and moderated scientific sessions nationally and internationally. He is also proud to have been appointed to the Editiorial Board of The Angle Orthodontist, one of the most prestigious orthodontic journals in the world. While having held many leadership posts in the Suffolk County and New York Dental Society, he is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, as well as a member of the American Dental Association, the Northeast Society of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists. Additionally, he is a member and on the Board of Directors of the prestigious Angle Society of Orthodontics (less than 5% of orthodontists around the world have been accepted for membership). He has been practicing orthodontics in East Northport for more than 20 years.

Dr. Schindel & team are fabulous. I wore braces as a teenager & I was never really happy with the results so I had a consult with Dr. Schindel. At 50+ years old & during the pandemic I started my treatment. I am beyond impressed with the results. Braces have come a long way. The process was painless & under 2 years as promised. I am so happy! Thank you!

I would not give them even 1 star. Dr, Senior Schindel had my 84 year old mother babysit his invalid wife while he left for hours to god only knows what on several occasions although when my Father was in a nursing home for 9 years, Neither Dr.'s nor Dr' Mrs Schinindel never came once to visit. These are fly by night friends. More commonly known as "Fair Weather Friends" . Proceed with caution IMO

I am beyond happy with my entire experience with Dr. Schindel and his team. They are the nicest group of professionals I have had the pleasure of dealing with. From consultation, to beginning the Invisalign process, all the way through to the end with my retainer fitting and follow-ups, everyone was hands on and supportive. Highly knowledgeable and genuinely personable all-around, I couldn't recommend them more if you are in need of an orthodontist practice. Oh, and I'm so so so happy with my results!!! If you or a loved one is in need of an orthodontist then Dr. Schindel is your man. He treated both of my daughter's in their teen years and they still have magnificent smiles 8-12 years later. He also treated me using Invisalign invisible braces technology and perfected my teeth which were in need of major corrections. Dr. Schindel is a kind and caring orthodontist who wants all of his patients to look great and complete their treatment with a very high degree of personal confidence in their smile along with genuine happiness. His long term staff are exceptionally friendly and work along side of him like a well choreographed dance team. Dr. Schindel is also a professor of orthodontics which keeps him completely up to date on the newest treatments, devices and technologies within his specialty. You will be amazed and beyond happy when you experience the time, caring and expertise that Dr. Schindel provides to you to ensure that you are proud of your teeth and smile for life. Dr. Schindel has treated my 4 children for many years; in fact, just today we had our third child permanently "graduate" from braces to a retainer. I never write reviews online, but feel compelled to in Dr. Schindel's case. From day one, he explained the exact course of treatment our kids would undergo, tailored with the right amount of detail for us as parents and then separately for the kids. He always listens and patiently responds to all of our questions, and perhaps most importantly, has consistently displayed care and empathy for our children throughout their treatment. The best endorsement that I can give is that in roughly a decade of seeing Dr. Schindel, none of my children ever complained about needing to take a trip to the orthodontist! Dr. Schindel is a fantastic doctor and an even better person, and he and his wonderful staff are a gift to our community. I consider our family so fortunate to have found him and his team!

My time and experience with Dr. Schindel and his staff was amazing. They were always so nice, and professional and on time! I appreciated their caution during COVID and I felt very safe continuing my Invisalign treatment during that time. The appointments were so easy to make and they were always accommodating. The office is always clean and cozy. The staff is a pleasure and friendly, lots of laughs shared. I was so pleased with the whole process and the technology involved i convinced my husband to get Invisalign as well. The cost and payment plan made it very possible for both of us. My Invisalign time has come to an end, and I never thought I'd miss going to the orthodontist but I def will. I might just stop by to bother them from time to time. Thank you Dr. Schindel and everyone for putting up with my all this time!

Dr Schindel helped both my son and daughter through the process of braces. Each of them were congenitally missing teeth and Dr Schindel was able to close the gaps and give my children beautiful straight smiles! He has a wonderfully pleasant attitude and my kids really liked him and their experience. We are grateful for Schindel orthodontics and would highly recommend them!

My two children were successfully treated through multiple dental issues that developed over a period of eleven years. Dr. Schindel developed a treatment plan for each issue that arose and explained every step to both my children and I. The office is always able to accommodate for emergency appointments. Cathy handles the insurance process and is always helpful with any problems or questions that arise. The payment plan was also very helpful. Treatment has been completed for both kids with braces removed and their teeth look amazing!!

Had both my daughter's traditional braces and my Invisalign done with Dr. Schindel. Every aspect of the experience was first class from the personnel in the office to the doctor himself. Everyone is friendly, professional, and thoughtful in their approach to your care. I found Dr. Schindel to shine when looking after my daughter's oral care and when I decided to have Invisalign done the choice for me was clear. There was no surprises, no discomfort, no pressure or surprise bills. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for quality orthodontics.

I cannot say enough kind things about Dr. Schindel. As a nurse and mom needing braces, he accommodated me not only through my busy hospital schedule during the pandemic, but also a pregnancy. He listened to all of my concerns and never dismissed even the pickiest of requests. Not only is Dr. Schindel a true professional, he is also very caring. I was impressed with his staff, whom I got to know well during my treatment. It takes a lot of guts and a major sense of humor to rock metal braces at 37 years old and we certainly had a lot of laughs together! For the first time in my life I am proud of the way my teeth look. I would recommend this office to anyone!

My son wore braces for 4 years. The first time we had a consult with Dr. Schindel, he explained the whole process in detail and shared his overall plan for my son's orthodontia care. Every time we went for an appointment for tightening or repair, the staff and Dr. Schindel were amazing. Such nice people and accommodating. Yesterday the braces came off and wow, my son's smile is 100 watts! Excellent work by an excellent doctor and his staff. Highly recommend getting your orthodontia here! Thank you, Dr. Schindel!!

Dr. Schindel has been our daughter's orthodontist for about 10 Years. His team and himself are absolutely professional and kind. The orthodontic job on our older daughter and the Invisalign he did in my mouth was outstanding. We are also taking to him our younger daughter and we can't wait to see on her the same beautiful and excellent results our older one has. We totally recommend Dr. Schindel and everyone in his team.
