Dr. Jacquelyn Schieck loves the profession of orthodontics, and feels so fortunate to be able to create beautiful smiles every day. She was inspired to become an orthodontist by her own orthodontic treatment as a teenager; she wanted to give others the self-esteem and confidence that she gained from her new smile! Dr. Schieck enjoys meeting new people, building relationships with patients and their families, and understanding the individual needs of each person. She is inspired by the artistic side of orthodontics, which combines with science and service to others to make a profound difference in a persons life.
Dr. Schieck takes pride in obtaining more than the required amount of continuing education credits each year. She regularly attends supplemental classes and conferences, and belongs to peer study groups. She believes it is vital to stay current and receive practical information to make treatments as effective and efficient as possible. Dr. Schieck finds it of the utmost importance to treat her patients with evidence-based knowledge while providing the highest quality of orthodontic care.
A native of Sioux Falls, SD, Dr. Schieck currently resides in Northfield, where she is eager to discover new ways to be involved and give back to the community. She and her husband Tanner have two boys, Samson and Roman, and two yellow labs, Maizie and Griz. When shes not in the office, Dr. Schieck loves to spend her free time with family, living vicariously through Pinterest and home decor blogs, and enjoying outdoor activities. She also enjoys reading, sewing, church involvement, and singing.

We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.
Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

I used 4 hours of medical leave to go for a consult only to arrive at 3:30p and be told Dr. Schieck was unexpectedly out all day. No one called me in advance to let me know or ask if I would like to reschedule when she would be there. Their intake form asks you if you understand that you may have to schedule appointments during working hours, and another question asks you how you feel about orthodontic treatment -- answer yes or no. Too many red flags for me, so I left.

My daughter was very apprehensive about getting an appliance put in her mouth. From the very first appointment the staff and Dr Schieck amazed us and made both my daughter and I very comfortable with the whole process. Not only did Dr Schieck speak with me but she took the time to ask my daughter what her wants likes and dislikes were, completely involving both of us in the consult which was awesome. When it came time for her appliance to be put in my daughter was not scared at all and actually giggled and was smiling from ear to ear saying how excited and happy she was. She talked the whole way home about how beautiful the Dr and staff were and how nice and fun they were-even asking if she can go back to see them the following day just to say hi! I have to say hands down AMAZING chairside manner. Kudos to Dr Schieck and her whole staff for creating an inviting and comfortable along with fun experience for their patients! I will be recommending them to everyone I know!

I chose Schieck because they support the Northfield Lacrosse Teams and I discovered that they are very dedicated in providing the very best treatment options. I am beyond impressed with the changes in my teeth and I am flashing my amazing smile everywhere I go! Schieck orthodontics to the rescue! I had to have a repair from some orthodontics work I had done over 20 years ago and wow! I was blown away at the customer service and "bedside" manner that I received from Dr. Schieck and her team. I highly recommend this place and these people!
