Our experienced and talented doctor and staff take regular continuing education courses in various orthodontic methods, so you know you will receive the best treatments available. Our comprehensive services include braces for children and adults, clear braces, self-ligating brackets, early treatment, Invisalign clear aligners, Invisalign Teen, and combined orthodontic and surgical treatments.

For me, orthodontics is much more than just straightening teeth. I have the opportunity to know my patients on a personal basis, and to make a positive difference in their lives. Creating beautiful smiles can help increase ones confidence, and that makes my job truly rewarding.
I grew up in San Antonio, and attended Churchill High School before earning my Bachelors Degree from The University of Texas at Austin. I then graduated with honors from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry with my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) and was awarded numerous honors and awards during my training there. I continued my education with a multi-year residency to specialize in Orthodontics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. During my orthodontic training I also obtained a Master of Science degree and published research related to orthodontics.
Although my formal education is complete, I know that as an orthodontist, I always need to keep up to date with the latest methods and technologies. As a part of my continuing education, I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of various professional dental organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Southwest Society of Orthodontists, the Charles Tweed Foundation, and the San Antonio District Dental Association. I have also taken classes in Invisalign in order to ensure that my knowledge of this popular service is the best it can be.
My profession gives me the unique opportunity to help people in my community get the smile they deserve. I am happy to use my experience, knowledge and skills to create beautiful smiles and happy patients! I strive to provide my patients with efficient and comprehensive treatment for smiles that last a lifetime.
We love to have fun at our practice! Our island theme makes our patients and families feel relaxed, and my talented staff is outgoing and friendly. Our office has a lot of energy, and you can always hear laughter among the staff and patients. Its a great place to be, and our families really appreciate the comfortable, laid-back vibe.
My team is experienced in orthodontics and excited about being here. We often take continuing education courses together as a practice, so everyone is on the same page. I feel great when I say I have total confidence in my team, and I truly enjoy working with each one of them.
I feel privileged to serve the people in my community. When I am not creating beautiful smiles, I love spending time with my beautiful wife and our five children. I also enjoy reading, swimming, exercising, watching movies, and being active with my church.

We have been so happy with the Schatz Orthodontics. This was my daughter's first experience with orthodontic care, and we feel confident we chose the right place for her! She was nervous at first, but Dr. Schatz and his team have been very helpful and patient along the way. They take the time to listen to concerns, and explain the process step by step. This has all been tremendously helpful for us, and she is no longer nervous or anxious about receiving treatment. I highly recommend this office!

We have used Dr. Schatz for braces for all 3 of my daughters! He is very thorough and his office is extremely welcoming. The office staff is phenomenal with the kids and make them feel comfortable. I highly recommend Schatz Orthodontics!

Dr. Schatz and his staff are amazing! They've done wonderful ortho work on two of my children and it's been a joy coming to their office over the past 4 years. They have a relaxing and welcoming waiting room as well.

On kid #4 with Dr. Schatz! We love their caring attitude and extremely efficient office. Their staff is the best, and it's my favorite place for any of my kids' appointments. Definitely go in for a consult. You'll feel comfortable, and they'll work with you on the money side of things.

Dr. Schatz and all of his staff are absolutely incredible!! Our oldest two children are patients and are always treated so kindly at every visit. They are so helpful when it comes to scheduling multiple kids and their appointments too!! I really appreciate the early in the morning appointment times also- it makes scheduling around school and activities so much easier!! I highly recommend Dr. Schatz and his incredible team!

We are on our last of 3 kids to get braces at Dr. Schatz. Can I get an Amen! They have been so fantastic with us through the years. Everyone here is so friendly, the billing is clear with never any surprises, and Dr. Schatz always explains in detail what his plan is, giving clarity to the situation. We absolutely love Dr. Schatz and his staff! He's very thorough and will not ask for unnecessary procedures/treatments.
