Dr. Carly Scharfenberg joined her father, Dr. Jerry, after graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. She was born and raised in Elmhurst, and she now enjoys serving her hometown community with premier dental care. Dr. Carly is devoted to providing innovative dentistry to the entire family.
Dr. Harmon was born in southeast Indiana and then relocated with his family to the Chicago suburbs in 2000. He graduated from The Ohio State University and obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, in Downers Grove, IL. Immediately following graduation, he was selected to complete 1-year post-graduate, multi-disciplinary hospital residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The residency provided him with advanced training in all specialties of dentistry including oral surgery and anesthesia, as well as the management and treatment of medically compromised and developmentally disabled individuals.
Dr. Jerald Scharfenberg has been serving the community with high-quality, compassionate dental care for over 35 years. He is known as a detail-oriented practitioner with an intense commitment to personalized patient care. Dr. Jerry has strong ties to the community; he settled in Elmhurst over 35 years ago, he raised his children in this community, and he currently lives in Elmhurst with his wife Aggie. His favorite part of dentistry is that it allows him to meet and get to know new patients every day.

We recently switched to Scharfenberg Dental due to insurance changes from a recommendation of an existing patient. We have been highly impressed and have received amazing care! Honestly, the most thorough visits we've ever experienced with a dentist. I had an emergency in the 36th week of my pregnancy and they fit me in even with being short staffed the day I reached out. Great service and amazing staff!

I've been going to Scharfenberg Dental for over 30 years. Obviously first with Jerry...now with Carly and Kyle. It's a great operation that's extremely well run - caring folks. Everyone on staff is very nice - they've created a great culture.

The staff is ahhmazzing! Honestly I was so nervous for multiple reasons from bad experience with other dentists to medical issues I've been dealing with and couldn't stop my banter, but they were so understanding and Dr Carly was actually listening to my feelings and was so gentle during my entire exam. I've never really had a dentist take all my concerns to heart and you can instantly tell she really cares about making you as comfortable as possible and even continues to check on you through your exam to see if your still doing well. Everything was explained to me of exactly what she was doing before she even started and then she takes out more time to let you know in depth of what she thinks is best for you and why she is choosing something before another. My experience was like no other before and I definitely recommend Dr Carly to anyone. I give Scharfenberg Dental an A+!

Scharfenberg Dental is where you find comfort during your routine dental care. Best/proficient dentists. Best/proficient hygienists. Best/proficient customer service. All of them are very friendly and did excellent job. Prior to pandemic, I had a SPA (the most comfortable feeling) during dental cleaning. THANK YOU Ms. R! : )

They are as professional as it gets. The staff is outstanding from receptionists, to the hygienists, to the doctors themselves. They are very accommodating and make the cleanings as painless as possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I called the office with an issue and they got me in the next day. Service was excellent and Dr. Kyle was super patient and did a great job diagnosing my problem and getting it resolved. The office team is professional and great to deal with. I would recommend this group and I really appreciate all they do.

Dr. Scharfenburg is a truly wonderful dentist. Her office is welcoming, her staff is so nice, and she does an excellent job calming down my nervous daughter. She is very thorough and takes plenty of time to talk with each and every patient. Highly recommend!

I've been going to Scharfenberg for awhile just having cleanings. Today I chipped a tooth and was able to get in and get it repaired right away. Dr Kyle was great!!
